Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I know you'll be a little busy while you're here, but I hope to see you this weekend! For more than the five minutes I saw you last time you were in town!

I guess it depends on how much of a slavedriver the wee one is! But, yes, I hope to see you.

the smirky sarcasm is going to get old really fast

Sadly, I have to point at the current incumbent ... eight years of smirky self-satisfaction.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Are the Nordies fitters no help? They're really the only place I trust for a fitting.

Oh I agree, they are good. But yeah, there have been times when nothing fit me, even at Nordo. Eh. It just means I try to buy a few when I find something.

I wear a somewhat larger than "average" size bra and I've found that every so often Marshall's or some other discount place will get an influx of GOOD bras in my size. There are a couple of brands that seem to fit just right and, when I see them, I ransack the racks, scoop up everything in my size, and carry them off in triumph.

Punishingly Intricate

Low-rise jeans have been my SALVATION

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm apple-shaped and carry most of my weight in my belly and boobs. My waist line is the bane of my existence. The pants I get to fit my waist slide right off my hips.

“Not dead yet!”

And I can't wear low-rise jeans AT ALL!

An 8 1/2"-9" rise hits me right about my hip bones. Anything lower and the evidence of the two pregnancies makes itself well-known. Plus, I have a mole I really need to have removed that sits right at my hipbone and if I'm not careful, it can get extremely irritated by a ill-placed waistband.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

At the moment the only bras I wear are Champions, mostly because of my long torso and big rib cage -- they have the longest straps on the market.

Seriously, I have the body of a 6' woman and the legs of a 5'5" woman. It's so annoying.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

What Toddson said about Marshall's (and TJ Maxx and Filene's, too). They don't always have them, but every so often you can find a ton of Wacoals or Mystere or some of the other good brands for the busty in the large sizes. $24 for a good bra is way more doable than $70.

(My suggestion is to go to Nordie's for the real fitting and pick up one bra there, then hit the discount stores until more in your size/style turn up.)

Also, from my own experience, the people who REALLY can't find anything to wear are like size 14-16 -- bigger than many "regular" stores carry, but still smaller than plus. At least, that was my experience shopping when I was busting out of my size 14 wardrobe. I couldn't shop anywhere!

That is absolutely when it's worst for me.

Actually, polling says the righties dig Palin, but the undecideds like Obama/ Biden. Especially women undecideds. So maybe it's not over yet.

I strongly encourage totally ignoring any and all polls for at least the next two weeks. This period (post coventions and vp picks, summer just ending) it's nearly impossible to get anything close to reliable, even by poll standards.
