Natter 60: Gone In 60 Seconds

It was much simpler when Victoria's Secret fit.
I don't think I've been able to wear a VS bra in close to 10 years, and that was when I was wearing a 34/36B. They are just plain ill-fitting and miss-sized.
I think everyone always has to try on a million things.
Heck, yeah. I just get tired of trying after a while. If I find one of something that fits, I end up buying 3-4 of them, just to make sure I have enough to last for a while. My daughter used to complain that my wardrobe was boring because it all looked the same. Didn't bother me, I just accessorized a lot.
Some day I'll be able to afford button-front shirts tailored to my measurements. That will be a nice day.
Also, from my own experience, the people who REALLY can't find anything to wear are like size 14-16 -- bigger than many "regular" stores carry, but still smaller than plus. At least, that was my experience shopping when I was busting out of my size 14 wardrobe. I couldn't shop anywhere!
it didn't have anything in it that promised his supporters how they would each get tax breaks and their own personal Muslim to pummel.
OMG, Teppy, brilliant.
That was the gist (is it "jist"? I never know) of last night, though, wasn't it? "I will continue to give the corporations you own the enormous tax breaks they're already getting!!! Fuck your workers!!!" He came thisclose to using the phrase "trickle down."
And the appalling video: "Vote McCain and you will ALL get to avenge 9/11, personally, with your bare hands!!!"
"Different is nice but it sure isn't pretty, and pretty is what it's about. I never knew anyone who was different who couldn't figure that out."
But everyone's different...
That was the gist (is it "jist"? I never know) of last night, though, wasn't it?
I didn't watch, because, well, I can't. This political stuff seriously makes me itch. Therefore I do appreciate your excellent sound bites!
Also, it's "gist."
Alterations by a tailor can be surprisingly inexpensive. Buy a shirt to fit the largest part of you - whether that's the shoulders or bust or whatever - and has princess seams - and a decent tailor can take it in easy. Also, Lands End does custom shirts for women based on measurement. They are a little pricey, but not "sell a kidney" pricey.
I am lucky, breast-wise. I am very happy with my 38C breasts and think of them as a nice rack without being really big. Really small or much bigger breasts come with a whole host af problems which I have seen close friends cope with. Most clothes fit me fine (I have more problems with my broad shoulders and short waist that I do with bust size). They have gotten mostly positive attention all my life. Honestly, guys love them and they are my favorite part of my body. Sometimes they get more attention than I like, but I would rather have them than not.
Being told earnestly by guys who dated me that I was "pretty" despite my chest size? That frankly hurt the ego a lot more.
Again, I say YAY boobies! All shapes and sizes.
As did the folks who thought I was either "brave" or a militant feminist for never even considering getting a boob job.
Um, YAY *real* boobies.
Also? Everybody sucks. (not you people)
L.A. baby!!!
I know you'll be a little busy while you're here, but I hope to see you this weekend! For more than the five minutes I saw you last time you were in town!
Sunday is The Fly the opera
I'll be VERY interested to hear what you and DW think about it, GC. Post about it as soon as you can.
Nah, I kind of think that's mostly true for all women about everything that goes on our bodies. Every single woman on What Not To Wear talks about how X, Y, and Z makes it uniquely difficult for her to find clothes that fit. I think everyone always has to try on a million things.
Absolutely true!
Mostly I wish that I could switch out my body for a different shaped one whenever I wanted so I could wear all different styles of clothing!
