Management issue: My minion just asked if she is dressed up enough today -- we have a Thing for work, and our boss said to just step it up a level from regular work clothes. Frankly, I think she could be more dressed up, but it's too late now, so I just said she was fine. All I can do is be more explicit for next time, right? I hate telling people what to wear.

Ach , ita. healing ma~~~~
Oh, ita, I hope that heals quickly and doesn't give you too much pain.
Still, those are some pretty impressive wounds.
I'm so tired. I went to bed at midnight and Liv woke up at 3 and wouldn't go back to sleep until 5. Then Owen got up at 7. I'm busy overcaffeinating and eating a piece of sugar cream pie for breakfast.
I was leery of the Pioneer Woman's pie crust recipe which included white vinegar but it is made of win. I also didn't realize that sugar cream pie is so easy but rare. It's apparently an old, regional recipe in Indiana.

It sounds like she grokked the instructions she got from the boss (or she wouldn't be asking at all), but didn't have an actual sense of the target to aim for. Be more clear, but maybe also ask the boss to try to do the same?

Yeah, she's new to this job, and to office jobs in general, so I think she's having trouble figuring out what we mean AND she doesn't have a huge wardrobe to pick from. These are the things I never think about, but need to!
Of course, it's also part of the problem with the loosey-goosey nature of women's work clothes. If we were guys, I think it would be more clear: broadcloth shirt instead of t-shirt, or shirt and tie instead of just shirt, or whatever.

It's like chess pie, isn't it, Cash? And mmmm... pie.
I wish I would tell my co-workers that their boobs are not work appropriate. Seriously, put those things away. And I have gib enough boobs that even a normal V-neck gives me cleavage, but I wear a scarf or camisole. The worst offenders are the two women who do patient reception, but their bosses seem to have no issue with it, so I just shut up.

Hahaha! That would be hilarious.
Oh man, I'm always flashing people in my office. Mostly when they're on the phone to important people. My bad.
Barb, it's almost like it. Sugar cream doesn't use eggs and is pretty sweet so it's the same idea. I use to like it but my sweet tooth has gotten sweeter and it's pretty awesome now. DH (who isn't a sweets person) is mad for it, which is why I tried my hand at it.
It's nigh-impossible to find around here. But I think if we went somewhere with a significant Amish population, we'd be able to find it.
