Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh ita, OWWW. I'd send you bendy straws if it would help.

I'm afraid that all the Palin stuff that makes us go "WTF?!?!!" makes Republicans and undecideds go, "Fuck yeah!"

That's my fear.

And I've been saying "WTF?!" for almost eight years now. So. I'd like to stop.

This. So very much and constantly, this.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

ita, ow ow OW. If anybody asks, they're duelling scars, OK?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

OUCH! Maybe you should be wrpped in bubble wrap, ita?

Our wings are not tired.

Wow, Ita. That looks really painful, and it's seriously the last thing you needed. Sometimes when I think of you, I feel like the universe gave you such strength and vigor, and then plays this practical joke on you by constantly fucking with you. And it really sucks. I'm sorry.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yeash, ita! I'm sorry—hope you heal up quickly and with as little pain as possible.

I'm afraid that all the Palin stuff that makes us go "WTF?!?!!" makes Republicans and undecideds go, "Fuck yeah!"

That's my fear.

Mine, too. Building a political movement out of xenophobia and ramping up people's fears (good god, last night's video) is contemptible. Encouraging people to hate and fear those who follow different religions is contemptible. Putting everyone from a geographic area, a similar skin color, or a religious tradition into a box labeled "bomb here" is appalling. The Republican's aren't only playing on people's fear and hate, they're nurturing it like a fucking hothouse flower, and I'm sick of it.

“Not dead yet!”

Ugh, ita--

Oh, and also Cold Case fan here-- I love the theme song (E.S. Posthumus) and while the general structure is predictable, they do a better job than most shows at throwing in unexpected twists.

Do it for Crash Davis - after 19 years in the minors, Scott McClain hits his first major league home run.

Coooooooool.

Our wings are not tired.

Ouch! ita, I hope the wounds surprise you with the quick healing.

eta: I also hope that the voting public surprises me this fall. I live in hope.

“Not dead yet!”

Jesus God. I just watched (okay, fast-forwarded mostly) through the video they presented last night at the RNC-- mostly so I could get to Olbermann's reaction. Brokaw looked stunned. Keith looked like he could cheerfully strangle a few people and I absolutely loved what he had to say.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

The story about Palin and her not knowing if she could accept the baby in her heart, but going ahead with the pregnancy ... for some reason I kept hearing a voice screaming "dingoes ate my baby" (I'm going to hell, aren't I?)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

He's going to be a fearsome pimp dog.

You could almost say he'd be the Mack Doggy!

Much healing-ma for ita.

Saw both the video (mostly I rolled my eyes - it was kinda inevitiable we'd get a piece of propaganda like that, I thought), and most of McCain's speech. Mostly I was surprised at A) how poorly his speech started, and B) even after it "improved", at least delivery-wise, how boring it was.
