If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

FYI, Giuliani's back on the schedule for tonight. That might be the one speech I actually want to watch.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

(FTR, I've said nice things about Vista, even. And I know for sure you guys aren't responsible for any of the things that I have found frustrating about MS.)

I think it is safe to say that even we employees find some things frustrating. I'm just wary of knee-jerk responses. (I would totally use a smiley here if I didn't think you all would assume I'd gone insane or something.)

In other news, did I miss people talking about the new art installation by the people who did The Sultan's Elephant? On the one hand, their stuff is always amazing. On the other hand, ohshitgiantspider.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Dana beat me to it!

I gotta work tonight at the bookstore, so I'll be missing any live speechifying. I can catch them on YouTube tomorrow, if any of them end up being interesting.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh Dana, that is beautiful.

Oh my god, Dana, that is just the best thing ever.

Jilli, I think about you and Plei whenever I hear random EE bashing, and usually point out that from my understanding it's a great place to work. (Not that I hear it much because our companies have some ties. But still.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Feel free to criticise anywhere I've ever worked, including my next employer, whoever that may be. It's all good.

Hec, at the time of your post I had 22 tabs open in this window, and four in another. There's no excuse for that other than poor organisation and laziness. I opened another tab to signup for Chrome for OS X updates, but after I make this next recruiter call maybe I'll go into the PC room and download it.

I didn't sleep last night. Grr. Got annoying enough I hit the gym around 6 and did grocery shopping. Managed a couple hours today--maybe that will put me back on schedule.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Enough with the (extended) Palin family already!(Gossip instead of actual policies? Sheesh.)

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

9 in browser 1, 23 in browser 2 (across 2 different windows). I'm not sure it's all that unusual.

(OTOH, Chrome's failure to allow me to enter my email addy for OSX updates, plus the comic's interesting quirk of loading the same page 10 times in a row, makes me less than hopeful for the first release...)

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Scrappy's Fuck-up Update. Talked to Boss. He has cooled off a bit but is still plenty displeased. Sent a Mea Culpa email to execs, hope it helps. Did NOT mention my eval and will bring it up in a couple of weeks, when I hope heads are cooler.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I try to have a policy of never looking at comments on a newspaper's online edition. That way lies head explosions. But sometimes it's irrestible.

I have no idea why I ever read our editorial blog. It does nothing but show me the icky side of the humans who live in this city. I just want to repost John Donne in every thread.
