I keep meaning to try to knit a Mobius scarf.

Those nested bottles are neat. Now I'm trying to count how many holes they had to make to build it in 3-space, and figure out if it's possible with no holes in 4-space.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

My older sister made a fortunatus bag once. It's a mobius strip bag that has no inside or outside.

I also want to knit a Klein bottle hat, just to try it, but I know I would never wear it, so I'd have to find someone else who wants a Klein bottle hat.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

There is a giant spider (over an inch in diameter) in my house. My cat is swinging from the canopy in the least effective but most enthusiastic bid for catching it that he can devise. I've decided to pretend it's not happening. There is no spider!

In other news, I now suspect I know how I ended up with spider bites a week or two ago.

In for real other news, I cleaned my house today! I even vacuumed and did dishes, and I'm in the process of doing laundry! I feel like a rock star. But I actually did it because my house was a total disaster and I'm going to have to ask a neighbor if I may borrow a ladder in order to change my light bulbs (both of which blew this week), and I didn't want to be embarrassed. Darn light bulbs! Darn ten foot ceiling!

But now my problem is trying to figure out what to have for dinner. I have no food in my fridge, and no urge to dirty anything in my house, so I need to eat out. And since I'm starting an infomercial next week on an exercise fitness class, I've been instructed to suck it up and eat like a healthy person. Advice I ignored this morning when I had scrambled eggs (with cheddar cheese), hash browns, and (whole wheat!) toast. With butter. But since I didn't eat lunch, I was way too busy napping, it's like the calories count for two meals! Yeah, I know I suck at the healthy eating logic. Help? What should I go find for dinner that's cheap? For the record, what I want is a giant bean and cheese burrito, if that helps. Would that count as healthy if I ate it with a Diet Coke?

Beans are good for you. And cheese has calcium and protein. I'd wrap it up in a whole wheat tortilla and throw in some lettuce and salsa for veggies, and call it good.

Oh, who am I kidding. I'd wrap it up in a whole wheat tortilla and throw on some guacamole and sour cream and call it really, really good.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You are a rock star, Alibelle! Yay, housecleaning! And go, msbelle, with the preparing! The Belles are rocking the domestic world.

We are cleaning, too, but it feels more like drudgery and less like achievement. Our town gets inundated with tourists this weekend, and it's impossible to get anything done. Still, we're making progress. Media room is mostly done and swept. Office is mostly done and swept. The SO's working in the studio and it's looking much better. So. We're getting there, but it's slow going.

OHMIGOD! We went to the best pool evah! It was perfect for us and the baby had such a great time.

But we're all wiped out. When we got home, I reconfigured the car seats and cleaned out the cars, including vacuuming and spot cleaning everything.

Tomorrow is my first day back at work. I have to finish both course syllabi for copying and pull out anything I want to take to school to set up my room. Feh.

I wish I was there to help with the shopping.

I wish you could do it FOR me. And thanks. Funny thing, brother and I were discussing it and we're at the same weight now. Of course, he's probably 7 inches taller than I am....

One of my brother's postdoc queries is Bethesda. Pleasepleaseplease!

I'd love to have him closer.

sara, you are melting away! I'd have gone shopping with you too!

Shopping FOR me, peoples. I hate shopping for clothes. I'm not at an ideal weight, just a surprising one after sustaining one I wasn't happy with for years. I'd love to take off more, but am not assed to make any more effort. Which is why this loss was so weird. I feel like I didn't try much.
