OHMIGOD! We went to the best pool evah! It was perfect for us and the baby had such a great time.

But we're all wiped out. When we got home, I reconfigured the car seats and cleaned out the cars, including vacuuming and spot cleaning everything.

Tomorrow is my first day back at work. I have to finish both course syllabi for copying and pull out anything I want to take to school to set up my room. Feh.

I wish I was there to help with the shopping.

I wish you could do it FOR me. And thanks. Funny thing, brother and I were discussing it and we're at the same weight now. Of course, he's probably 7 inches taller than I am....

One of my brother's postdoc queries is Bethesda. Pleasepleaseplease!

I'd love to have him closer.

Shopping FOR me, peoples. I hate shopping for clothes. I'm not at an ideal weight, just a surprising one after sustaining one I wasn't happy with for years. I'd love to take off more, but am not assed to make any more effort. Which is why this loss was so weird. I feel like I didn't try much.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Kat is a good person to shop with, I always find something with her.

I am so tired. And I failed to grade this weekend although I did get some other stuff done. I feel like I started the semester already behind the 8 ball and I'm just gonna flail the whole 15 weeks.

Also Kat I must pick your brains some time about a conversation I had today. The short version: are all LA moms crazy?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That pool looks awesome! So much fun.

People need to shop for me, too. Shopping is not at all fun for me, but having the new clothes is great! I'm too much of a ditherer to enjoy shopping.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

I got TWO bean and cheese burritos for those playing along at home. But they were plain, just beans and cheese, which really, really confused the guy at Del Taco. It just would not compute for him. So I decided not to complain when he gave me a real Coke rather than a Diet Coke. That's what I actually wanted, if not what I said.

Thanks, Calli! And thanks, Liese!

I now want to go swimming at the awesome pool. Which reminds me, Kat, when are we gonna go see the Pants movie?

In the meantime, I rented "Southland Tales," a movie which apparently stars The Rock, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Justin Timberlake, and Mandy Moore. How had I never heard of this before? Since I usually really enjoy Mandy Moore movies and am pretty apathetic about Sarah Michelle Gellar movies, and like The Rock movies, but have no interest in Justin Timberlake movies, I'm really fascinated about how this one's going to go.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I was going to link to the Klein hat (and Moebius scarf), but I should have known that another smarty-pants would have gotten there before I did.

(In my defense, we were watching S5 of Buffy -- Into the Woods [ptui] and Triangle.)

I love the Acme Klein Bottle site -- they're so cheerfully geeky! For instance:

Pop an Acme Klein Bottle on your head!

It's ideal for skiing, sleigh-rides, snowball fights, midwinter colloquia, Antarctic beach parties, and alpine chess tournaments. A perfect gift for anyone with a zero-volume head. An important accessory to the one-sided mind. An essential headwarmer for your non-orientable friends who are temporarily immersed in our 3-dimensions.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I did good at Macy's today. Got a new bra and a pretty shirt and two pairs of high-waist wide leg jeans. One black, one blue. [link] I suspect that these are out of style, but they are perfect for work, look fabulous on and were only $25.
