Ita (sorry Bberry won't let me start with a little i )- I hope you get some relief.
Kristin - glad you are feeling a bit better.
I forgot to post that thanks to Grandad, mac is now riding a big bike with no training wheels. We've just had our first trip to the park with the bike since getting back to the city. Sidewalks were scary, but I think he has convinced himself that he can ride on them.
Palin's daughter is currently pregnant: [link]
Link to NYT story, from a statement issued through the McCain camp.
eta: Cashmere beat me to it.
Is the daughter married? If not, I wonder how the "Christian" Right will respond.
Not married, but soon will be according to them.
Just curious, has the older son, Trey, I believe?, been in any of the family photos? The ones I've seen only include the girls, and the girls and the baby.
It would be a hard thing to make a statement on, but I wish the dems could somehow wish the family well through this as well as point out that this only shows how teenage pregnancy is a problem for the whole country, not just "urban" youth or the poor. Somehow bring it around to the importance of speaking openly with children about ALL options and increasing support for sex ed.
::Points to msbelle and turns up the microphone::
What the smart lady said.
This is the test to take the high road for the Dems. As tempting as it would be to act like the Right Wing Finger Pointers, it's just none of anyone's business but the girl and her family.
Let it be and don't dignify it with a response. Reporters and pundits need to shut it.
msbelle, can I print that out and put that in my neighbor's hands? He's Jim Messina, who's the #2 guy on the Obama campaign, and he was home last night, so he might be around today.
Also, my admittedly biased, upper middle class reaction to this? "Geez, aren't any of her kids going to get to college? Poor kids."
eta:
Reporters and pundits need to shut it.
But they won't, which is a good reason for Obama to wish them well and frame it as a policy discussion, not a discussion about Bristol's specific choices (or lack there of).
