We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I'm with Typo and Scrappy on the Palin issue: how disgusting is it that people are spreading that kind of rumor, just to make political hay? It's revolting and I hope the Obama campaign comes out and says so.

Whatever her choices with regards to her pregnancy and her body, they are HER CHOICES and second-guessing her would be hypocritical in the extreme.

Frank -- I can believe that of a 5th pregnancy, though.

Oh believe me, I know that (says 8th of eight). It's just I saw this stuff before it hit the Kos, and if the MSM starts talking about it, it doesn't matter where it originated - it's going to be blamed on Obama's campaign.

Hence my statement that it could get ugly.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, whatever happens with that - proven or disproven - I hope it happens fast.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Which Obama should say loudly and repeatedly. And then give a little glare.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I just got off the phone with my sister, who is currently on her long-delayed honeymoon (they married last October) in Hawaii. They're staying on the west coast of Maui in what sounds like a really nice condo within sight of the ocean. When they got there a few days ago, there was an open house going on just down the street, so they got curious and decided to go. While chatting with the real estate agent about where they were from, etc., the agent said that he was a transplant, born in Joliet, IL. Well, that's where Sis and I are from! Turns out, he's a year older than my brother and had dated a girl who was my stepmother's cousin.

Small world.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

really small world.

going to open houses while on vacation is such a great idea. well, if you like them I guess. I just love seeing inside houses. I really need to just go on more here in the city, you know in all my free time.

Always Anti-fascist!

I don't give a damn if she's the Virgin Mary(Although watching her turn up on a taco chip at the convention when she's supposed to be somewhere else would be amusing.) She's too extreme and seems not to know her ass from her armpit. It would be pretty weird for a 16yo to have a Down's baby, but I suppose it could happen. But let's be the one group of people not fixated on this woman's womb...it's hard enough to accept the righties using it as her qualification, imo.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

On the lighter side, the Knights Templar are suing the Vatican.

It occurs to me (as someone who is not a lawyer but enjoys trying to think like one) that the suit raises questions of standing. Aren't all current groups claiming to be "Knights Templar" really new groups started from scratch? Having the same name (or even borrowing some rites) from a group wiped out centuries alone doesn't give you rights to sue on their behalf does it? Because it if does, the modern Druids have an awesome suit against Italy.
