Wow. Daily Kos is questioning whether Trig is actually Palin's child, or if his mother is actually Palin's 16-year-old daughter. [link] I really have no clue, and don't much care, whether it's true, but poor kid, to be 16 and have your belly scrutinized on the internet.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I think it would take way WAY too much conspiracy among medical folks and so on to stage your public pregnancy of a Downs child when it's actually your daughter's. Unless the girl child actually disappeared from public view for a couple months as just the right time, which should be easy enough to disprove.

(Also, some women carry very small. I know my aunt (an ER nurse herself) got disbelieved by the intake nurse when she went to the hospital to deliver her 3rd-born.)

I don't much care for any of Palin's stated positions, et cetera, but I'll give her props for walking the walk she talks, especially when you find out there are plenty of Pro-Life women who have made "exceptions" for themselves or their daughters when it happens to them.

She was out of school for a few months with mono.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Tina Fey is hosting the season opener of SNL.

I'd bet folding money they set that up since the Palin announcement. I am SO stoked.

Not touching the muckraking of Palin's pregnancy. Too low, Daily Kos, too low.

This is going to get ugly. I read (granted, on the internets, so - grain shaker of salt and all) that Palin was back at work only a few days after Trig was born.

I read the Kos thread, and I don't buy it. It's so purely speculative that it's ugly to put it out there at this point.I mean, the woman is supposedly breastfeeding. You can't fake that!

Frank -- I can believe that of a 5th pregnancy, though. Whether it would have been better for the child to take a few days off for bonding, well, that's for experts to debate.

I note that not too many years ago our governor had twins, and seemed to keep up pretty well with her work, so it can be done, especially when you can afford nannies and whatnot.

One of my grad school friends took her final exams about a week after her first daughter was born, and was back to teaching about three days after her second kid and I think just two days after her third.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'd heard to rumors regarding Trig before it hit Kos, but didn't give much credit to them, though her flight from Texas while apparently in labor had made me do the o.0 face this spring. Because, well, that's just crazy and unsafe and made me think WTF?

I wouldn't be shocked if it turns out to be true, but I don't actually care that much. I have many more reasons to twitch at the thought of her close to the presidency!

(Is Seattle the only state in the lower 48 that routinely reports on Alaska politics?)
