Morning, Sophia!
there are large swathes of the board that I never enter.
Lately, it's the other way around with me - there are only the few threads that I enter, and the rest of the board is a mystery.
And that's not even due to all my regular different-timezone, doesn't-watch-USA-current-tv knows-nothing-of-these-subjects stuff with some of the threads. Sigh.
However, I never not read "Press" and "Beep Me". I wanna know how y'all are doing, even if I don't get the slightest chance to let y'all know that I do. And I'm so pleased that I keep the Buffista Calendar because at least this way I get a good excuse every now and then to hop into Natter and at least skip there, without feeling guilt.
I used to read every post, but now there are large swathes of the board that I never enter.
Me too, but that was back when we had, like, 6 threads. I don't think I've been subscribed to *everything* since shortly after the migration to WX when the thread count went all splodey.
ION, I seem to be covered in hives. I didn't wake up with them, they sprung up during my commute. I'm really hoping it's just a random stress thing and not some horrible subway plague.

Just in case, I should avoid the Q train, right?
Morning all-- coffee has kicked in, however, my sinuses are hating me for all the chlorine yesterday (day trip to Typhoon Lagoon at Disney).
The photographs of celebrities without makeup inexplicably cheer me. I realize that I look better without makeup than a lot of recognized beauties. Is that wrong? I will admit, too, it does make me want to find a world-class makeup artist and photographer so that just once, I could see what I could look like. (No stylists though-- I'm convinced they're trolls who rarely have the best interests of their clients at heart. Otherwise, why would some of those chicks go out in public looking the way they do?)
sara, I see that Bev answered your Klimova and Ponomarenko question-- they were so typically Russian, big and bold and in-your-face dramatic. I always did prefer Usova and Zhulin, even though Sasha Zhulin was the biggest rat bastard on the planet, but K & P were stunningly beautiful skaters nevertheless.

And the 4/5. I can't remember which one I took this morning. (Edit - can't remember if it was the 4 or the 5.)
Unrelated to the hives - this is nifty. Twitter cookbook
Jessica, I hope whatever it is, it goes away soon (and definitely that the stress which hopefully (?) caused it will disappear, as well).

Yeah, me too.
Especially since I'm so completely ignorant in these matters, they look like magic to me (when D, one of my former roommates, got married, I spent the day with her, so I got to watch the woman who did her makeup do her job. It was totally like magic - she took this color, that color, a bit of this and a bit of that, and suddenly D was a beautiful striking version of her already-pretty self. Magic).
I think the pictures without makeup are also taken to maximize the unattractiveness, while the ones with makeup are carefully lit and touched up to make them more attractive. I remember years ago seeing a spread on makeovers in a magazine. They dragged women out of bed at 5am (!), no makeup, no hair styling, no coffee (!!!), stood them up against a wall and put a strong white light on them. They all looked terrible. Then, after makeup and hair and wardrobe, they were carefully posed and lit ... and looked beautiful.
