Actually, I was thinking it would be sort of like a pet. You know, we could...we could name her Trixie, or Miss Kitty Fantastico, or something.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

The drilling om the roof of my building is back. If it's anything like yesterday, it'll last for few hours.

... shoot me now.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh, that's such a great shout-out.

I agree!

Cabybaras, yay.

Shir, could you go work somewhere else? Even if your computer is not a lap-top, just take the files you need and go to some library or university room?

You know, you could even come to my place, if you anyway need to come to the area later today - my home computer would love some company.

[Edited to wave at Cass.]

Nilly, I can't move anywhere. I'm on vpn connection to a backoffice, and they don't like the idea of using wireless connection while using the vpn thing.

I have earplugs which I use for noise rock shows I go to. It helps, somewhat.

Also, not sure I'm posting it in the right thread, but you guys seen this?

Oh, I'm sorry you have no choice. I hope the earplugs work.

Also, you know that there's a Firefly thread, right?

You know you can subscribe to threads in your profile page, right?

Then they appear in your message center, indicating new posts when there are ones, or you can be directed straight to those new messages by clicking the Read New link.

[Edit: and now I wonder if I didn't understand your problem and just stated-the-obvious and your question was something else entirely. Oh, well.]

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Aztecs ROCKED.

This post is brought to you by the letters I (for insomnia) and B (for bloodlust -- seriously, how can a whole society be that hinged on offing people gleefully, and how badly do I want my sister to bring me back an Aztec knife from her current Mexico trip?).

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, dear, I know all of this, because you explained it so well in your emails the first time I tried to understand how this board works.

I'm just afraid that my brain will explode trying to keep track of threads and posts, if I'll add another tiny thread to my message center. Staying out of touch with a computer for more than 48 hours now seems quite impossible. It's like the term Fisheye.co.il uses, MMA (initials in Hebrew for Terrifying New Posts Monster).

ita, there's another "b", for "boo insomnia!".

Shir, um, how to break this to you? I don't think anybody keeps up. Skip and skim is your friend. Also, threadsucking. I personally love the message center, even if it tells me that I'm thousands of posts behind in the literary thread, for example, I still enjoy knowing that it's there and waiting for me.
