hip deep in pie

I totally need a haircut too. I am thinking about some colour as my hair has been looking awfully dull lately.

My haircuts are $37-40, I think.

hip deep in pie

I think I promised this to someone months ago, here's the vodka pie dough recipe.
CI's Foolproof Pie Dough

Notes: Vodka only, no substitutes. This dough will be moister and more supple than most standard pie doughs and will require more flour to roll out (up to 1/4 cup).

2.5 cups (12.5 ounces) unbleached all-purpose flour
1 tsp table salt
2 tbsp sugar
12 tbsp (1.5 sticks) cold unsalted butter cut into 1/4 inch slices
1/2 cup cold vegetable shortening, cut into 4 pieces
1/4 cup cold vodka
1/4 cup cold water

1. Process 1.5 cups of flour, salt and sugar in food processor until combined, about 2 one second pulses. Add butter and shortening and process until homogenous dough just starts to collect in uneven clumps, about 15 seconds (dough will resemble cottage cheese curds and there should be no uncoated flour). Scrape bowl with rubber spatula and redistribute dough evenly around processor blade. Add remaining cup flour and pulse until mixture is evenly disributed around bowl and mass of dough has been broken up, 4-6 quick pulses. Empty mixture into medium bowl.

2. Sprinkle vodka and water over mixture. With rubber spatula, use folding motion to mix, pressing down on dough until dough is slightly tacky and sticks together. Divide dough into two even balls and flatten each into 4-inch disk. Wrap each in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 45 minutes or up to 2 days.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Wow. The Nationals suck. Mets up 7 10-0 in the 3rd.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Mmmm....pie.

I am so hungry! I am cooking some supper right now and it should be done soon, but I am hungry now!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I just called Blue Elephant. Peanut Noodles in 15 minutes! Only drawback is that I have to put on shoes to go get it.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I have a haircut scheduled for Saturday!

Hey, Me too! Wanna come advise on the color, and then maybe go get a beer?

brillig

I'm becoming quite fond of synchro diving. Two great bods for the price of one. Plus nifty athletics. I like diving, period, I understand it. Big splash bad, little ploop good.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Wanna come advise on the color, and then maybe go get a beer?

Of course on the first (we're scheduled at the same time, silly), maybe on the second? If I have M's truck, I'm making a run to Target. Whoo!! (I may be a little more excited about a Tarzhay trip than is strictly necessary.)
