I have a friend whose niece sings and dances up and down the aisles of Trader Joe's. She's five - it sounds cute.
When I was three or so I kept dancing in the grocery store. My Mom said, "Trudy, you're not supposed to dance in the grocery store." "Then why are they playing music?!?!?"
She let me keep dancing.

Singing in a grocery store or anywhere else that people are moving around freely is different than something like a gym or airport or waiting room (or, for the love of god, in the office) where you're more or less stuck in one spot.

It's not as annoying as singing, but several people at the Y have the volume so loud on their iPods that the music leaks around their ears.
