ohmygod. That cake!
Thing that made me smile most recently? yoga!
And watching a guy from Togo kick ass on the kayaking course. Very cool.

Singing in a grocery store or anywhere else that people are moving around freely is different than something like a gym or airport or waiting room (or, for the love of god, in the office) where you're more or less stuck in one spot.
Oooh, I dvr'd today's Olympics just so I could watch the whitewater kayaking. I'm so looking forward to seeing it!
It's not as annoying as singing, but several people at the Y have the volume so loud on their iPods that the music leaks around their ears.
Help! My brain is failing. Doesn't @ have a more formal name than "at sign?"
The quiet car on Amtrak specifies "working" headphones for any electronics. It's an important distinction.
Ginger, I've been meaning to ask when I saw you on the board the same time as I was - is there news about Bicyclops? If you posted something after the beep me item, I missed it.
Doesn't @ have a more formal name than "at sign?"
"eyeroll sign"? (But seriously: not really. At sign, or At symbol, or the never-heard-it-before Commercial At but nothing fancy and latinate: [link] . Also, some of the non-English names for it at the bottom are awesome.)
I seriously think that the @@ emoticon may be our greatest linguistic legacy.
From amych's link:
In Hebrew it is colloquially known as shtrudel
I had no idea it was a Hebrew thing! I just thought it was named after the cake, because of its shape [Edit: and, yeah, that's why at first the "@@" emoticon was quite confusing for my poor little brain.].
