what's the last thing that made you smile?
Other than Dylan's pictures that javachik posted and Noah-and-Grace pictures that lori posted?
One of my roommates left me a chocolate bar on my bed, with a lovely note. I hardly got to see any of my roommates in the past month, and she knew how stressed out I was, and wanted to help the only way she could. The chocolate was yummy. The note was even better (and will last longer [Edit: I mean, looking at it and enjoying it will be possible even when the chocolate is all history.]).
You know, it doesn't bother me to find out about the various Olympic "fake-outs". It's like Disneyland, everything micromanaged to best effect. I'm a little surprised at people's surprise, that they think the organizers wouldn't tweak the presentations to cover for perceived flaws. (I'm always suspicious of cute-kid shows anyway, especially when said cute kid is adorable as well as talented. I always suspect an untoward amount of stage management.)
One of The Boy's cats is all black, and after I showed him I Can Has Cheezburger, he's started calling her Basement Cat.
Heh. I wonder if any Satanist writings have been redone in LOLcat...
Coming home to my kids made me smile all day yesterday.
A good friend's husband who works for the feds as a lawyer has been handling bankrupcties in Cleveland. He just got ressigned to D.C. to start revieing legal findings for Gitmo detainees.
Oh! And Cashmere's story about how Owen had greeted her when she came home. Even though there were no pictures.
[Edit: and that x-post!]
I smiled today putting my pillowcases back on when I remembered Dylan's little handprint that used to be there. So cute. Greasy and chocolately, but cute!
(Kinda x-posted with Bitches)
I smiled when I emailed an instructor at the local fencing club to ask about signing up for beginner classes. On some level I've been wanting to pick up a sword for almost 30 years, and I'm finally taking steps to make it happen!
I smiled when I changed my IM picture this morning from a pic of my great grandma in her youth to my tiny sweetie, Momo.

Man, that Dylan sure has lots of smiles to answer for!
Last smile: reading this question and remembering a dream last night. Time travelers hooked ancient Egypt up to cable. Returned to our own time and the pyramids were all about four feet high. The Sphinx was about the size of Allyson's Ruby. And (via some sort of interdimensional connection I guess) some of the ancient Egyptians were now members of this board explaining how they were screwing off at work discussing Dr. Who with us when they should have been making bricks.
