I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sometimes I really want to tell the people of the US to go to the stupid hell they so richly deserve, but then I remember that I live here. ::SIGH::

Shit's all sorts of different now.

"I hate to correct you on your own show, Casey, but there are actually 52 states including Alaska and Rhode Island."

Swouncing

There's a story about an Israeli soccer player who once said that on the next season he wanted to play either in Spain or in Europe.

Yeah, it's not what we're talking about, but still.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Speaking only for myself, it's nice to know there are dumbasses everywhere. The US doesn't have the market on it!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Hey, wow! I finally caught up! (Okay, so I skipped almost 3 weeks of July natter.)

Hello again, Buffistas!

Yeah, but with this "US is Number One" complex around here, you'd think that USanians would feel some obligation to actually live up to that standard.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But "USA #1!!!!" is all you need to know!

brillig

I find myself rooting against the US in the Olympics a lot, just so I don't have to watch the "OMG!!We're so awesomely wonderful" celebration things.

I'm also tired of athletes being heroes, but that's whole other rant. Dedicated, talented, and overcoming adversity, sure. Heroes, no.

Sorry, some of the rant got out.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I always made my French 101 students have to identify at least 5 Francophone countries (on different continents) as part of their first test.

My favorite was the student who used almost all islands so that he wouldn't have to know the article!

Our wings are not tired.

With you on the heroes, thing.

But I would be shocked if every country didn't cover the Olympics with the same bias. You think the people in France are less biased towards their athletes than U.S.?
