Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You are correct, I am watching NBC, and I didn't even realize it was live! I thought I was being especially silly for whitefonting something that happened hours ago.

Art Crawl!!!

Is that live?

It's not showing stuff from Saturday night?

The medal ceremony on right now is live, at least. Or that's what they tell me on the screen.

Really, I figure anyone who cares about results knows about them basically as they happen, or is that a bad assumption?

Art Crawl!!!

It's 8:41 am in China, no?

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

I believe NBC made a deal that involved scheduling the popular sports like swimming and gymnastics for really early in the morning so that they could air them live on the East coast.

I'd say that's a bad assumption. I don't want to know until I see it happen.

“Not dead yet!”

Because of the exact twelve hour difference, we're going to get to see a lot of events live, so the swimming tonight has been life, Sunday morning swimming in Beijing.

ETA: Twelve hour difference from East Coast time. Sorry. The brain, she is not firing on all cylinders.

information libertarian

China is 14 hours ahead of EST, so it's almost 1pm there. So, nights we can expect live coverage of morning events.

ETA: Nope, Barb is right, it's 12 hours ahead. Which means someone on television is WRONG!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

NBC is live right now. There'a a 12 hour time difference from Beijing to the east coast. So, if it's 10pm in NYC, it's 10am in Beijing. Anything you watch earlier in the day, starting at 9 or 10am, is delayed from the afternoon/evening before.

10 -- they're 12 hours off Eastern US time.

I'd say that's a bad assumption. I don't want to know until I see it happen.

Then I am glad I whitefonted!
