Now tagless for your comfort.

Nilly, I have the same issue with the age gap with my cousins. My father was the youngest of 12, so his oldest brother was a grandfather when I was born. I have second cousins my age.

That number of 52 was my last count and it is probably off by a few, that I can't remember. My dad's family is not close, but Mom's family is very close--I'm closer to some of HER cousins than some of mine on my dad's side.

God, I gave up on the second generation of first cousins.

My father was the youngest of 12, so his oldest brother was a grandfather when I was born.

My mom is the 8th of 10. My grandmother was my grandfather's second wife - his first wife died after having four children - so there's an age gap between the first four children and the other six (but they're siblings in every possible aspect other than biologically sharing a mother). When my youngest uncle was born, he already had nieces and nephews way older than him.

My dad's family is not close, but Mom's family is very close

Even though my dad's family is much smaller (he only has three brothers, for example), that's the same with us, as well.

I'm closer to some of HER cousins than some of mine on my dad's side.

And that's the same here, too. How odd.

Do Owen and Olivia know children around their age from that circle?

Yes! Which is actually great! My oldest cousin's grandchildren are Owen & Olivia's age so it's nice when we go to family reunions. Plus, I have a great-niece and two great-nephews who are close to Owen's age, whom we see quite often.

It's a crazy but fun multi-generational family.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm one of 15 grandchildren on my Father's side and with the exception of one sad estrangement we are pretty actively in each others' lives. One of us is getting married in October and he is adamant that all the cousins sing at his wedding. Fortunately, one of is a music teacher and will be put in charge of the grand chorus.

I also have second cousins on both sides of my family with whom I am close. I generally just refer to them as cousins.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but the picture is awesome! [link]

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Huh, I'm in a totally different time zone now. Board time is my time.

The earth is weird.

I have a mere 7 first cousins. I'm the least interesting of the adult cousins. One is an architect in New York, one owns a coffee house in New Hampshire, one is just about to become a pediatric doctor, and the last is going to start working in China fairly soon.
