Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I just know if I hit them with questions about true alternative lifestyles, they might just look at me as if I've grown a third eye. Because what romance considers "alternative" vs. what's truly alternative are no doubt quite different.

I recently made the mistake of trying to explain slash to a group of romance writers over lunch. We were talking about how you know you've made it as an author, and my measure was, "When there's a thriving fanfic community devoted to my work." I added that I was fine with people slashing my protagonist and his best friend, but if anyone slashed my protagonist and antagonist, I didn't want to know, because I'd have to hunt them down and kill them with a spork. Anyway, they knew what slash was, but they seemed baffled by the idea that I was writing my protagonist and his friend as straight while being aware of and comfortable with a potential for homoerotic subtext.

It was weird. I'm used to being the vanilla one at the table.

yep, feel my excitement as I read through toilet reviews online. What is AWESOME about this is 1 ) that the things I am reading with good reviews were not at my Home Depot, so I am not sure about local availability 2) I probably have to take a day off work 3) The water has to be shut off to all toilets in my apartment line (5 others) while they do the switch.

The cost just means that apartment work I had hope to do in August is now cancelled.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The American Standard Cadet III is a good model, and readily available.

When we had to replace ours a few months ago (because 50 year old toilets are no one's friend), we weighed that vs. the Toto, and the Toto didn't have enough advantages to outweigh the price difference. We're pretty happy with the Cadet III.

I spent WAY more time than I wanted to on toilet forums before that.

I was looking at Toto Drake, Niagara Flapperless, and Eljer Aqua Saver. Based on price only at the Home Depot it was between the Kohler Wellington and the Cadet III, but both of those were panned on the sites I was reading. Thanks for letting me know you are please with your Cadet III.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh no! I am so glad I am a renter sometimes. I don't think I have the ability to own without having a nervous breakdown. Also, because my childhood was spent with some weird house problems (Like the pipes under the sink didn't work and we just did the dishes in a tub and dumped the water in the back yard until I was about 18) I have a tendacy tp be able to live with things that really should be fixed.

The Cadet III scored well with Consumer's Union, as I recall.

Toto's got a cult following. The followers are loud.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

My newish toilet is also an American Standard Cadet and it's from Home Depot. It turned out to be so much better than the old toilet that I became much more cheerful about spending the money.
