We had chicken with homemade pesto from the basil growing on the deck for dinner tonight. Nom nom nom...

Kat, I'm copying-and-pasting from B's e-mail:

most stuff are obvious some depend on baby's age

during takeoff and landing - breastfeed / drink bottle / pull pacifier so baby sucks - helps prevent ear pains (order is from best to ok since swallowing is better than sucking)

enough wipes (N vomited - I had to clean the plane's carpet and *I* had to clean)

simple food (cheerios - keep them busy and quiet during the lines for the tickets)

lots of stickers

baby toys - only if you are willing to lose them because things get lost.

stroller can go until the plane - take one because there are long walks in the airport

don't forget to take the car-seat because you need it right after the plane

ask for a bassinet. and verify and verify again. i think it is given below 6 month. but it is very small. in any case the seats next to it are bigger.

and it is cold on the airplane so baby needs more layers. I guess everybody knows that.

I also put a sticker on the baby with name and phone and more details. just in case he is lost somehow. didn't happen.

I just got back from seeing the 25th anniversary showing of War Games. Now I am going to re-read ita's chapter in Allyson's book.

I need blood drawn tomorrow, which means I need to fast in the morning. And that may just mean I need a before bedtime snack to tide me over. hmmm. Probably shouldn't be ice cream however.

They won't let us have pets inside the university buildings,

They don't here, either, but one of my friends had a little dog that she used to bring into the office with her when we were working late. We got kicked out of the building and had to sneak back in a few times, but having a dog around while studying was great for lowering stress.

Happy Birthday, vw! And thanks for the good wishes everybody-- hard to believe in a lot of way, yet at the same time, it seems as if it was just yesterday.

ita, our plans are very loose for the moment-- we may go out to dinner, we may just order pizza, since Lewis has to work today.

But for the moment, I am drinking excellent coffee that my husband made me as I check out e-mail and boards and LJ and listening to Pat Metheny's First Circle.

Life is good.
