Poor kid is going to have an awful time in school.
eh. According to my 2nd grade teacher sister-in-law, kids rarely give each other shit about "odd" names anymore. Names are just so much more diverse now then they were in the past. And I think Bishop is actually pretty traditional. I kind of like it.
Okay, it's 23 C (74F) outside, with humidex making it feel like it's 32 C. (89F) However, our air conditioning is in high gear, and so it's about 18C (65F) inside. And yet, I just went to look out the window at the fog, and the radiator is pumping out heat. It makes no sense.
Thanks, dcp. I've marked it for reading later (like practically everything that is not whining here or writing my dissertation).
we have a small window before it goes from being a complicated thing to accomplish to verging on impossible.
Then I'll insist of my Pollyanna-ish-ness and keep thinking that if it had to happen (and, well, in a world that has Murphy's laws, it obviously has to happen), at least the timing is as OK as possible under the circumstances. Good luck with that, either way.
Did I mention it's as foggy as all get out. This is a from a live webcam:

Um, Sue? I think the camera is broken...
Bishop's normal enough that I've worked with one or two of them.
Lillian's in class with a Sparks and a Ransome. Names these days. Sheesh.
Nilly, did you know that all of Dr. Horrible is now up on something called Whedontube (or at least it was)? Since you were avoiding the Buffy/Angel thread, I thought I'd mention the next time I saw your font in a timely manner.
Um, Sue? I think the camera is broken...
Sadly, it isn't...Don't you see a little bit of shoreline in the foreground.

Yeah, that's crazy.
Also crazy is the voicemail I just got from a headhunter because I had been "highly recommended" for the position of Executive Director at an arts education organization that recently opened a big new facility. Seriously? I can't imagine anyone who actually knows me would rec me for something like that -- it's well out of my area of expertise.
Frank, thank you for the heads up! And no, I had no idea. I had no idea a site like that existed at all, as a matter of fact.
However, due to religious reasons - it's a period of three weeks of mourning customs going back to the destruction of the temple more than 2000 years ago - I try to avoid music as much as possible right now. And definitely music I've been looking forward to ever since seeing the first two parts. So seeing the third part, in whichever way (and I'm sure I will), will, alas, have to wait.
And, frankly, I'm a bit OK with that. I mean, thinking back, that fabulous song who opened the second part had a line in which
Billy sings about how the darkness in him will be the only thing that would remain, or something along these lines (combined with Penny singing the word "glow", of course, because the back-and-forth between the lyrics in that song was so lovely), and the last song in that second part hinted at just that.
And so I'm pretty sure (no spoiler, pure speculation) that the ending will not be a happy and good one, at least for some, and it's quite OK for me to live in a world where I don't have to be sad for those adorable little characters just yet.
Or maybe that's the rationalization I give myself.
