(Perl was the first post-collegiate language I was immersed in. Now, mostly php, but I've thankfully gotten out of the programming business most of the time. I could do it, and pretty well for self-taught, but I HATED IT.)
'Dirty Girls'

And Seoul's airport offers free internet (he didn't take his computer with, so I guess they offer terminals?
Huh. I remember the terminals, but I thought I remembered having to pay for them. Maybe things have changed. I definitely remember checking my email there, because I was hoping the hotel in Saigon had written me back, and they hadn't...I think I updated LJ while I was there too.
Edit: There is definitely free internet and terminals in Singapore's airport, that I remember.
He was at Seoul/Inchon. I know he didn't take his phone, even if he could figure out how to access the internet on it.
He also said security was nicer than in the US.

Perl is made of evil. Now, Ruby? Ruby I would sleep with on a first date.
That Sesame Street clip is hilarious, but kind of wrong at the same time.
SERIOUSLY.
I have to write letters for work. I have a few more to go. But I'm filled with a world of meh.
Please to entertain me!

Ah, no unexpected cavity searches for carrying anti-perspirant, then?

I was skimming, and I thought you meant Allyson's cat!!!
This is the coolest "watch" evah!

Sublimex is worn on the eye like a contact lens where it periodically flashes the time so quickly that the brain isn’t conscious of how it got the information. The user seems to simply know the time, raising a host of possibilities about how the nature of clockwatching would change.
Andrewes: The idea of having an invisible timekeeper transmitting the time through a subliminal message to the eye is original yet at the same time rather worrying. One can imagine that the time messages would quickly be supplemented with advertisements, perhaps without the user’s consent or awareness. Sublimex is a wearable device that certainly deserved recognition.
Friend: I have to admit, I was waiting for this. The old watch in the contact lens. But the really cool twist here is that it’s subliminal! You just know it’s 8:00 p.m.
I wanna be able to just know stuff....
