Natter 59: Dominate Your Face!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Obama is my first choice of the people who actually ran. If Gore had run, I would've been behind him all the way, but I've admired Obama since 2004 (and am convinced there's plenty of substance there) and was very happy to support him once it became clear Gore was going to stay out.
And that's all I'm going to say, because Kat's right--there's no point in encouraging further polarization
here.
And besides, I've spent entirely too much of the last 8 years letting anger rule me because of politics. I don't want to do that anymore.
No! No burning! It was $$$$ and worth it (and visible in pics prior to the bruise pic.) It's pretty and comfy, I'm just a klutz and not used to the space it takes up.
I"ma keeping my mouth shut too. Or trying to. It's been an unseemly sad few months for me for all candidates and positions and shit. PEOPLE SUCK.
I got called childish when I asked a girl to stop making out with her boyfriend during class.
You're kidding, right? How can anyone, even a teenager, think that's acceptable in class? For crying out loud, at least sneak off to a dark corner of the hallway.
I will not drink the Kool-Aid until I know what's in it.
I was disappointed that Clinton was not the choice as she was my first choice, but my Democratic roots are strong. My summer homework is to read Obama's works and I sincerely hope my confidence increases. Bottom line is that I will vote for Obama. I have voted for the Democratic candidate for president in every election since my first in 1972.
I have more hope for Obama moving the country in the direction I prefer than I would with McCain. Either way would be a world better than Bush. This isn't the first time I didn't get my way in politics and it certainly doesn't come close to my biggest disappointment. (so says the Palm Beach County voter, nothing will ever compare to that horror)
If Gore had run, I would've been behind him all the way
Oh hell yes! I love the public figure he's become.
there's no point in encouraging further polarization here.
What makes me angry is that people from the same party (not here) are treating each other like scumbags because they're not supporting their candidate. I'm going to blame it on Bush and his subsect of crazy Republicans.
No! No burning!
OK, OK! I'd tell you to give it a swift kick if it didn't mean you'd give yourself another bruise.
I'm sporting a massive shiner on my left shin, and I'm not sure where from. Probably while I was on the huge dose of anti-inflammatories, though. Stinker. Beast.
Is there a notation for writing down dances? Okay, maybe I should go further back. When Company B dances Swan Lake this year, how much like Swan Lake from Company A in 1956 is it? Tells the same story, probably. Has the same cast? Doing the same motions? In the same costumes? How much is traditional, reasonable variation?
If it's close, how is it recorded?
A few times during this tennis coverage they've said "but we don't keep this stat" which makes me think that for tennis at least it should be possible (maybe not easy, which I originally typed) to record a game in such a way that reconstructing a stat is possible, even if you have to re-harvest a given match to get second serve percentage on break chances, or something like. I wonder why they're not doing it.

As long as it doesn't scratch it! It's
NEW!
And has totally fucked up my spending. Must.get.new.stuff.
Pouring down here. I guess you got that earlier, Maria?
Is there a notation for writing down dances?
Yes. Having been married to a professional dancer I know it existed, but I certainly never understood.
I got to enjoy it twice. It was pouring in DC, so I delayed my trip home. Unfortunately, all I did was postpone getting angry at idiotic drivers who are going too fast for conditions. I managed to get caught up in it around Clarksburg all the way through to Frederick.
The poor dog was home alone. She doesn't do well with heavy rain and/or thunderstorms since she was abandoned in one. Coco practically crawled into my skin when I walked in the door. Then the traitorous canine abandoned me in a New York minute as soon as DH waltzed in. She is such a daddy's girl.
Must.get.new.stuff.
I'm fighting that urge myself. We desperately need new bedroom furniture. And we need to finish painting. All the bedrooms and bathrooms still need to be done.
I certainly never understood.
Edward Tufte's Visual Display of Quantitative Information is my current bathtub reading, and there was a smidge of what looked like some in there, but it was very confusing. Which leads one to how many, and what does it mean, and how do I create the right google query?
Fuck, tonight's dinner pork chope and brown rice taste amazing.
