See that faint line above it on my thigh? (below in the photo.) That's from where I fell off a dhow in Mozambique and gave myself a credible Virgin of Guadalupe icon bruise in 2000 or 2001. The dent is mostly gone, took years. No telling if weight loss will bring it back.

I have lots of comments about the Obama/Clinton thing. I know people are passionate in their beliefs about both candidates (and about McCain). In lieu of picking a fight over comments I think are extremely polarizing, I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut.

In other news, Time Warner? Asshatty! They came to install a digital phone line with the rest of our digital stuff. It took them 4+ hours to get the connection to the airport working again.

Ouch, sara! That piece of furniture should be burned for warmth. Please be careful!

Also, high school students who have been without a permanent teacher all year? ARGH. I got called childish when I asked a girl to stop making out with her boyfriend during class.

Seriously? Enough.

Just saw a Twix commercial. Guy meets girl at a party, they talk and find they agree on a lot of issues. Guy asks, "Want to come up to my apartment?" Girl, offended, says, "What? What kind of girl do you think I am?" Guy takes a bite of a Twix bar, and in the time he's chewing comes up with the response, "I just thought you'd want to, you know, blog about our ideals." Girl, relieved, says, "Oh, blogging! I love blogging!"

Is it just me, or is the wording of that last line incredibly weird?

Obama is my first choice of the people who actually ran. If Gore had run, I would've been behind him all the way, but I've admired Obama since 2004 (and am convinced there's plenty of substance there) and was very happy to support him once it became clear Gore was going to stay out.

And that's all I'm going to say, because Kat's right--there's no point in encouraging further polarization here. And besides, I've spent entirely too much of the last 8 years letting anger rule me because of politics. I don't want to do that anymore.

You're kidding, right? How can anyone, even a teenager, think that's acceptable in class? For crying out loud, at least sneak off to a dark corner of the hallway.

I was disappointed that Clinton was not the choice as she was my first choice, but my Democratic roots are strong. My summer homework is to read Obama's works and I sincerely hope my confidence increases. Bottom line is that I will vote for Obama. I have voted for the Democratic candidate for president in every election since my first in 1972.

I have more hope for Obama moving the country in the direction I prefer than I would with McCain. Either way would be a world better than Bush. This isn't the first time I didn't get my way in politics and it certainly doesn't come close to my biggest disappointment. (so says the Palm Beach County voter, nothing will ever compare to that horror)

What makes me angry is that people from the same party (not here) are treating each other like scumbags because they're not supporting their candidate. I'm going to blame it on Bush and his subsect of crazy Republicans.
