Don't worry, I'm not gonna start any sword fights. I'm over that phase.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Heh, that's what I get for skimming.

I don't think I said it the first time!

I am dying of sweat, but I'm trying to wait to take a shower so I'm not all sweaty again before I go out later this afternoon. This may be a futile quest.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We took Matilda to Children's Fairyland yesterday. It's an old children's amusement park in Oakland that was allegedly an inspiration for Disneyland. But it's way more homemade and homespun, working that fine line between quaint and creepy. It's been fixed up in recent years after a stretch where it looked like the Joker's secret lair.

Emmett was an excellent big brother and made sure Matilda had maximum fun.

Teppy's sister in Spidey love.

More big brother points - Matilda on the balcony.

Cute plus creepy.

On the Jolly Trolley.

Abusing your brother for fun and amusement.

They have a whole Beatrix Potter village, so we took pictures for the Lilybean.

Matilda is immune to the Uncanny Valley.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Matilda's pictures are a joy to the heart. They seemed to have a lot of fun.

ION, reason's for today's sick morning and noon feeling found when roommate complained about the same symptoms I felt. Oy.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Teppy's sister in Spidey love.

Heh! I, unsurprisingly, dressed as Spidey for Halloween many years in a row.

Emmett was an excellent big brother and made sure Matilda had maximum fun.

That picture is just perfect. I mean, REALLY. Like, enlarge and frame and hang in a prominent place PERFECT.

Cute plus creepy.

Matilda ameliorates much of the creepy.

Matilda is immune to the Uncanny Valley.

Now THAT? Is creepy. (The statue, not Matilda.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Lillian digs the Matilda pics. Though, due to the grey hair and similar glasses, she was INSISTING that Certain People were SO her Daddy.

"No, Lillian, that's Matilda's Daddy."

What an honor! I wish I was as pretty as Paul.

They both looked insanely gleeful every time they came down. Except the time she decided she was ready to do it herself, which was not going to happen. (Very steep slide.)

Emmett was not keen on going and was making all the proto-teen "I'm bored" noises until he started taking her on the slide. Then he had a lot of fun with her.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I don't think she'd say so now, but when Annabel was just beginning to be communicative, she was known to claim pictures of Katie Holmes were her mommy (what with AB looking like Suri Cruise and all) and to point to Stephen Colbert on TV and say "Daddy." Which, given my Colbert crush, led DH to ask if there was something I wasn't telling him...

I've seen the msbelle'n'mac off. What she didn't mention was that up past one was with lisah at an Orioles game in which they won by an exciting one home run in the 10th (bottom of the 10th? Top? Left? Right? Beats the hell out of me.) It was kinda boring in the middle (I missed the first few innings) but the end was fun. And the seats were awesome.

There was brunching today and a lot of angstyby me driving around neighborhoods and a whopping one open house.

It was a lot of fun.

And it is really really hot here.

Bottom of the tenth. Sounds fun! I love Camden Yards.

Kat alerted me to this cool group performing yesterday in downtown LA.

They're Australian, called Strange Fruit. Watch the videos! And the rest of my pictures.
