Bottom of the tenth. Sounds fun! I love Camden Yards.

Kat alerted me to this cool group performing yesterday in downtown LA.

They're Australian, called Strange Fruit. Watch the videos! And the rest of my pictures.

“Not dead yet!”

I've discovered the difference between really hot in NYC vs. really hot in Florida is that in Florida, we don't walk anywhere. It's very much a driving culture and we go from air-conditioning to air-conditioning, whereas in NYC, most places are nice and air conditioned, but you're walking everywhere or descending down into the bowels of the subway (which I've decided are somewhere in the vicinity of the Third Circle of Hell).

It's very sweat inducing. I haven't taken this many showers per day since I was in drum corps.

Camden Yards is a lovely stadium. (Light rail is slooooow, though.) Those seats spoiled me for any other though. Maybe 16th row from the field between 3rd and home? (UU) But it's the only game I've ever been to, so.

Always Anti-fascist!

JZ, one of the reasons I hate my stepmonster is that she crossed a picket line during a grocery strike. But, you know, there are SO many.(And she's not that young anymore.) If I crossed a picket line, my grandfather would haunt me. Wishing I could have hung out with Lisah yesterday. Even though I don't know baseball so I'd be all about the dumb questions.

Whee, I have accomplished office chair assembly, crap old chair removal, floor sweeping, haircut, and lunch. Also drove by the cinema, but the parking lot was so full I can guess that everyone who went to see The Dark Knight and couldn't get tickets opted for staying and watching other movies instead. Mamma Mia can wait 'til a weekday.

so I'd be all about the dumb questions.

It took me at least an inning to figure out which team was the Orioles. Seriously. Both had orange and black!

I suppose that I ought to put on some pants and go to the House of Blues.

OMG, someone on the Seattle LJ community just pointed out that there is a baseball player on the Seattle Mariners whose last name is PUTZ.

There is thus a raft of headlines that are really funny. "PUTZ set to return after all star break"

"PUTZ getting restless"

Poor guy. Why do you not change your last name at some point? Why did your parents not change their last name at some point? My god!!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It's been a stressful few days, but the margarita at lunch has definitely helped with that.

t drifts away

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I've gotten so used to having Putz on the team that the name doesn't me giggle anymore, but it took a whole season. And it helped that for awhile there last season he was pretty much the best closer in baseball.

ETA if in some alternate reality I'd married JJ Putz, I would certainly have kept my maiden name, insisted on using it for all our children, and strongly suggested that he take it himself.
