I now have an empty house.

Isnt that weird, Dana??

How long until you move? Do you know yet where you're going to be, or do you still have to house hunt where you're going?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

MM, insent....

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Isnt that weird, Dana??

It is. Mostly it's depressing. HMOG, the dust. I swear we vaccuum. And yet there are piles of dust where furniture used to be.

How long until you move? Do you know yet where you're going to be, or do you still have to house hunt where you're going?

Probably about two weeks for me. We already have a house on the other end, so I think the only giant hurdle remaining is getting our stuff moved in there. And at least that won't be happening in the humidity of a Houston summer.

Five Myths About Sleep and Insomnia

1. Humans Need Eight Hours Sleep a Night: There are many ways of sleeping and few cultures sleep in eight-hour consolidated blocks like we do. In places like Bali and New Guinea, people tend to slip in and out of sleep as they need it, napping more during the day, and getting up more at night. Until the industrial era, many Western Europeans divided the night into "the first sleep" and the "second sleep." They'd go to bed soon after dark, sleep for four hours then wake for an hour or two during which they'd write, pray, smoke, reflect on dreams they'd had, have sex or even visit neighbors. In fact, there's some evidence to suggest that this sleep pattern may be the one most in tune with our inherent circadian rhythms.

I just saw a guy wearing a t-shirt which I really hope is a joke. It's set up like those college athletic team practice t-shirts and it reads
BUTTE Pirates Athletics.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

2. Sleep Isn't Just a Bodily Function: Sleep is a biological, physiological system, akin to the cardiovascular system, the nervous system and so on. Like any other system, it is highly variable (some people have weak systems, some people have strong systems), and it wears out and gets more fragile with age

The second sentence makes sense to me, the first does not. And won't really, if you can't point it out in Gray's Anatomy. What are they getting at?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

What are they getting at?

They wanted a nice round number like 5 and just kind of made something up?

hip deep in pie

With lobster, most people usually just eat the claws and tail, right?

I hear that what they serve in most US restos, if they served it shelled, but most people I know dig into the body too.
