Aren't they something. They're like butterflies, or little pieces of wrapping paper blowing around.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

"I'm not trying to be creepy, but you are really beautiful and have a wonderful smile that lights everything up." His wife added in "He's right!"

Awww, that is the sweetest thing. I love that story. And I'm glad your jaw is feeling better.

Aw, thanks. I was just doing my perfunctory smile. Cause when there isn't reason not to be, why not be pleasant and friendly (barring sketchy sitchs. In my own 'hood shopping, I go with friendly.) Lord knows when it is time to deliver a smackdown, I do that too.

It's something I've debated, with a feminist slant. Smile is disarming, but also vulnerable and a common ingrained girlthang. I'd also like to not approach the world with anger. And my time in the south, oh that taught me about the polite slam. And about polite polite and polite FUCK THE HELL OFF and not-so-polite leave me alone. I'm a master of the invisible neon LEAVEMALONE sign, I like being able to use the others as warranted.

So I smile at times. Because I can. And because I think I can knock it down if I want (not physically, but emo/verbal? Uh, yeah.)

I wish for a world where friendly!= vulnerable.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Well you are beautiful sarameg and you do have a great smile, but yeah, I love the random compliment. Anything that makes the world a slightly nicer place is a good thing.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Sometimes humans don't suck.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Joe Blanton was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies for minor league second baseman Adrian Cardenas, pitcher Josh Outman and outfielder Matthew Spencer.

Aye, caramba. Well, we better be damn good by 2010. And it'll be good for the Phillies. With that lineup he'll get a lot of wins. The Mets will be sorry they didn't trade Milledge for Blanton when they had the chance.

Speaking of baseball, we won our first game tonight in Sectionals against a very tough team. The team that ousted us from Sectionals last year, in fact.

Anyway, it was a super tense game we were down 2-1 in the 4th, during which inning we had a crazy rundown that had balls going to all three bases (while Emmett was throwing as catcher) that resulted in cutting down a runner at the plate. Then we turned a double play, came up to bat and Emmett knocked in the tying run. (Later he had a triple.) He had a great game. He's caught every inning too. Our pitching's been awesome.

So. We're two wins away from going to the Divisional/State championship.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Random music thoughts:

So, No Air. Am I reading this right?

Jordin Sparks: "Don't you leave me! I'll die!"
Chris Brown: "No, don't you leave me! I'll die!"
Both: "NNOOOOO!!"

So, what, they both want to stay together? What are they getting so worked up about?

Goldfrapp's Supernature: electronica meets Weimar-era cabaret. Goldfrapp's Felt Mountain: electronica meets James Bond themes. I don't know how to characterise Black Cherry, but the video to Strict Machine is fun: [link]

I like Goldfrapp. Black Cherry equals Electronic Glam Dance. or something. Her new album is a another complete departure. Rather folky and atmospheric.

"Strict Machine" is a great song.

Yeah, interesting move. It's like Goldfrapp meets... Jewel?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Gronklies. I think my body has pretty much just decided to completely ignore anything silly like the times when the sun rises and sets. The past few days have been a weird sort of pattern of sleeping for four hours, then awake for six. Except sometimes it's sleep for eight hours and away for sixteen, but those eight and sixteen don't in any way line up with when normal people are awake and asleep.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, what, they both want to stay together? What are they getting so worked up about?

Hee.
