I would argue an 8 oz can of coke is the most familiar liquid, aside from water, worldwide-- people have a constellation of nutritional associations with it.
Regular cans of Coke are 12 oz. Well, in America. I know they come in different sizes around the world (and I've seen the cute little 8 oz. cans here too), but I think the 12 oz. size is more common. Maybe.

I have no idea what the relevance of 27g of carbs to 13g of carbs is if the caloric content is similar.
Per serving, Coke has about twice the calories of VitaminWater.
[eta: Neither company, as far as I know, actually sells an 8 oz bottle or can in the US, but both consider "one serving" to be 8 oz.]

I'm getting panicky.
Kat, I know it's uber-stressful when it's your parent. Believe me, I know. All I can say is that bypass surgery is really common, which is unfortunate in a general sense, but good in a specific sense because it means that your dad is undergoing a surgery that's been honed and improved upon for many years.
How old is your dad, and -- other than his heart -- how's his health?
(Also, if my Child Of A Heart Patient routine is a pain in the ass, tell me. I'm just spouting off my experience in the hopes that my dad's good outcomes might make you feel better about your dad's situation. If I'm only stressing you out, I totally don't want to do that.)
