"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Allyson, I am so sorry/angry/WTFiswrongwithpeople for you. Ugh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Restraint? The hell? I'm a krav brown belt and I'm not sure how I'd go about restraining a grown man and calling 911 until 911 got there. In general, hit them until they can no longer be a threat--I guess it primarily matters how much he hit him. But that's a dicey as hell line, and dangerous too.

Please tell me they just charged your brother and that they didn't take him into custody.

I know. that's fucking ridiculous.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm hoping that was just the PR answer.

I made it through the Bad Meeting relatively unscathed. Now I just have to listen in on another meeting, and then I'm done! Phew. I have to decide if I'm going to take the train/bus or cab to the airport. Lazy vs. cheap -- it's a real battle within me!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I don't know whether "defense of preschool-age son" would be a defense as a matter of law. But I don't see any jury convicting on those facts.

Me neither. I'd sure vote to acquit. I mean, I've never hit another person in my life, but if anyone laid a hand on Annabel in my presence I have no doubt whatsoever that would change that very instant.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

WTF? Allyson, I am so very sorry. Your brother did absolutely the right thing. I don't know if I could stop hitting the guy.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Allyson, I have some friends at a firm in Boston. I don't think they do criminal, but could probably recommend someone. Do you want me to contact them? I'm leaving the office for the afternoon in a few minutes, but if you send me an email at my profile addy, I'll get it.

Allyson, what everyone else said, including any help you might need, finance-wise.

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Yikes Allyson! Here's hoping everything turns out well for your brother. Hopefully the DA's office will have a sense of perspective about the difference between the situation that actually occurred and just randomly pummeling someone without provocation.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I just hope Allyson's nephew isn't thinking that somehow he got his dad in trouble! That would be total little kid logic, you know?
