That's fucked up, Kat. Your students, not your reaction.

Kat, so sorry - that's upsetting. I think calling the school police was a good call. Does that automatically get something official to the principal or in their files? SOmething at least for an official inquiry about a threat against a teacher's family. Kids need to know that what they say is a big deal.

After going to a highschool that was pretty laid back about what students said as long as actions did not follow, I was FLOORED at the hell a student could be put through if reported for hateful or threatening language at my university. All a victim has to know is that making official reports starts a whole system of hearings and reports and on and on. If vistims act like it was serious, it becomes serious.

I liked the AV Club's take on that Holmes movie (before Downey was mentioned):

What would be the latest at night I could play Dance Dance Revolution before my downstairs neighbors have a reasonable complaint? I feel like playing, but it's 9:30.

5:00 pm.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Dana, did you catch today's stage yet?

ugh, kat, those little shits. I agree that calling the school police is the thing to do. I hope they get their lame asses handed to them.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I'm so sorry for your loss, Tamara.

Kat, that is insane. I hope they get some serious disciplinary action.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Dana, did you catch today's stage yet?

No, between concerts and moving, I'm too swamped. Is there a site you recommend I go read for results?

40 is where it is at. Really. Rock on 40. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I had no clue how fabulous 40 would be until I got here. Just fantastic. Y'all should be jealous of us 40 year olds.

Seriously! The club of people turning 40 this year is pretty freaking cool.

I am meeting a friend from college for lunch. She wants to talk to me about my decision to be a single mom. I have no idea what her situation is, if she is thinking about adoption or pregnancy or is already on one of those paths. BUT, she was hard to pin down for lunch because "I hardly ever am able to take lunch, never a whole hour." and I'm hoping not to come off too harsh when I tell her about how much of her life will need to be restructured. Who knows, maybe she has the finances to have a nanny and my path will bear little to no resemblence to hers.
