Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I tried to go to the library (closed) and tried to get a pedicure (also closed), and then went to the grocery store. I will be doing laundry and neatening, but I think a nap may be in the cards first.

hip deep in pie

I have been to the farmer's market (where I got a head of lettuse bigger than my head for $1.50), a craft market, had lunch with a friend, watered the garden while Clio frolicked outdoors, and then went to the grocery store. I have also had a little too much sun, but I am hoping that I didn't sweat off all of the SPF 60.

I did all those things because I really need to clean my house.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I took Annabel to the library and got junky fast food for us all on the way home. DH is out with her now picking a birthday present for one of her preschool friends, and I'm about to go to the grocery store. Then it's the friend's party, sigh. Going to little kid birthday parties, especially when I don't know the other adults who'll be there more than to nod hello at daycare pickup, is definitely one of the duties of parenthood rather than one of its delights.

This evening: try to do a bit around the house, put in 20-30 minutes on the Wii Fit, and do some writing.

Because books.

I slept late, made a new playlist, cleaned up the bedroom, and am now painting the screened porch. And not even making too much of a mess.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I took Matilda to a local free science/nature museum, came home on the bus, deposited her sleeping self upon a couch, and ate some mac&cheese and a candy bar. Now I'm going to sweep the hallway, because it has dust mice the size of actual mice.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I picked up my CSA share and went to Target. Now I'm catching up on the board and snickering at things like this on the Mystery Hole site Tep linked to:

Many people have passed by this astounding mystifying spot without realizing just how near they were to a whole "HOLE" full of interesting , intriguing and incredible experiences.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I wandered around a local festival (Festival for the Eno), where I bought a nice swirly, hippie skirt, some lovely earrings, and a t-shirt. It's been unusually cool today (for NC) so, unlike most post-Eno evenings in the past, I don't want to die from heat exhaustion. It's nice! Tonight Smonster and Amyth will be coming by to watch some S2 MacGyver (the mullet—its evil envelopment of RDA's head shows a terrible strength at this point in the series). All in all, a good day.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

one of the books I listed on Amazon already sold. YAY! What I really need is the furniture to go though.

Clothes are drying and I am taking a break.

Keeping the TV off and the radio on has been key to my productivity.
