I dunno. Miss Micaragua has palms growing out of her head and TWO murals.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
not only a spouse, but a spouse with a very flexible schedule.
Yup. And it's funny how few corporations ever stop to realize that they can't both be assuming the other one will be the flexible one...
(I'm the one with the "flexible schedule" in our house because I have a great supervisor and DH's boss is a wee bit of an insano control freak when it comes to people putting in hours. Which is ironic since his is the job which could theoretically be done from home, and mine very much isn't.)
I don't know if it was a movie or a TV show, but I recall a plot where the hero had to save a bus full or people (most like women and children) from a warlike situation in the third world (possibly somewhere in Africa). This was probably sometime in the 90s.
Hotel Rwanda is the closest match I'm coming up with.
Miss Phillipines is actually kind of pretty
How have we missed [link]
I love the ones with huge headresses where they have to be photographed from far back so they look so tiny. Also, trinidad and tobago is wearing spandex pants. What's NOT to love?!
Ireland was also quite pretty.
But Miss USA? Seriously, WTF?
The swimsuit photos all look like FHM shots.
Bow = wrong like a wrong thing [link]
oh lord! this one I think Miss Argentina's evening gown got swtiched with her national costume. Actually it reminds me of Faulkner: "My mother is a fish."
I recommend my workplace for any parents. Flexible hours, generous telecommuting, generous leave (5 wks/ year vacation, 5 wks/year sick, with rollover up to some ridic amount-if you aren't a contractor like me) and if you want to go part-time, they'll accommodate that to avoid losing the skillset . There are a lot of couples who work (and met) here, some way up the food chain. And really, it is ideal for working parents.
Officemate works 7:30-3:30 which allows him to drop his daughter off at school and get home by the time she's out of afterschool. A couple/friends split the daycare delivery. One comes in early, the other takes the kid to daycare around 10. Early one picks the kids up at daycare at 4 and then fetches the later-working one.
Oh, the swimuits are an anthem to awkward. Oh, dear. Who was the photographer? Damn, poor girls.
I am entering evening gowns. Yes, Miss Albania is paging Brigitte Neilsen circa 1984 HARD.
