Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am sooooo sleepy. I just made myself a huge iced latte to try and give myself a pick me up.

Naps sounds better. But lattes are tastier.

Watching one of those sell my house shows. and I jus realized I was not a typical buyer.I actually wanted the less neutral house with the out of date interior, partly because it was easier for me to see the potential. My eyes glaze over when things are too neutral.

yes, when I was was house shopping a few years ago, I had that problem. there was one place that had a brand new kitchen, with new, neutral appliances, and I hated it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ah, but the thing I learned watching those shows is that the selling price goes up by more than the renovation costs when they re-do kitchens, so it's good not to get distracted by new appliances!

I know too many instances where the sellers did all kinds of expensive construction projects to modernize the house, only to have the buyer tear out everything!

exactly. I would have had a hard time buying the place, knowing that I was going to rip out brand new appliances.

most of the renovation cost on these shows are materials and not labor.

I have to admit - an updated kitchen would make a huge difference in this house, but it is one of the reasons we got the house for less than asking ( during peak market years). And while there are some major $$ renovations --- improving the cabinets, replacing the counters and appliances could be done for a fairly inexpensive price.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

someone could probably make money fabricating models of appliances. then you could make the kitchen look fantastic without buyer and seller spending and ripping new appliances

Now I am shopping at overstock.com. It would be much more productive if I could go outside and do the yard work I want to do. But the air is getting better and tomorrow I should be able to work outside tomorrow.
