Natter 59: Dominate Your Face!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It's Friday, right? I can go home soon.
Mmm. Home.
In an effort to distract myself, I'm obsessing over Hall and Oates again. Poor SA is getting the brunt via IM.
Man, that fandom would have been HUGE if the Internets had existed 30+ years ago. Woulda made Popslash and Bandom into small potatoes.
That sounds horrible, ita.
Hopefully it will be over soon.
It is crazy quiet here today which only makes me worried that someone will have some fire drill that I have to perform at 6 pm on a Friday.
You have a faint Southern accent, Susan. Not a strong one, just a flavor, like my in-laws do.
((tamara and aunt))
Happy birthday, JZ!
I hope the moisture in the fog washes away some of the particulates in the air. At 8 PM last night, there was so much smoke in the air, I could look directly at the sun, and it was the color of a watermelon Jolly Rancher. It didn't bother me until last night and now it's really bugging: eyes, throat, blech.
Weekend: Think I'll leave early and go see Wall-E.
Tomorrow: Suzi farewell, then I'll go to work afterward nd finish up what I'm not doing now.
Sunday: who knows. House and sister stufff probably.
Heh. Baseball Tonight even opened a recent show with "What do you mean we only talk about the Yankees and the Red Sox?" as their intro to talking about an A's game. There are many instances where half an episode will be about Papi's wrist and A-Rod's quad.
To be fair, they do talk about the Mets fairly often. @@
Oh well, Baseball Tonight was never as cool as Sportscenter in it's Keith Olbermann/Dan Patrick heydey. Which is unfortunate because you
could
have a really cool and interesting nightly baseball show with the right collection of smartasses.

I guess my friend has a good ear, then!
People who grew up around here can generally tell I didn't, but they rarely can guess where. Lately several people have told me I sound Midwestern, which I've never been.
I am so sorry Tamara, and sending ~ma you family's way.
Plei, just by saying "hall & Oates", you have earwormed me with "Leave me alone, I'm a family man..."
I think Duran Duran would have been really big in RPS fandom too-- I was thinking about it the other day.
I had a co-worker once tell me she thought I had a bit of an Irish lilt to my voice. I told her I must be watching too much PBS.
I used to get a lot of people thinking I was Canadian. I think it was because of my efforts to not have a Rochester accent (RAAAh-chester). There is a very nasal A involved.
SA can attest that this Hall/Oates things happens to me at least once a year.
I just get slightly obsessed with them for no good reason.
FCM:
Hall, Oates, Don Henley.
