Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Laga is from Chicago.

I think the distinction is that what's authentic local style need not be what an authentic local craves. But it's a fiddly semantic point.

I kept poking around that clothing site. I guess my clothing style is still...well, whatever. Remember when tommy (I think) linked to a page with these pants which I coveted mightily? I can't afford them. For shame.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think the distinction is that what's authentic local style need not be what an authentic local craves.

Yeah, that's how I read it. Unless there's a statue of me in front of city hall, what I like doesn't isn't likely to have a whole lot to do with what my hometown is famous for.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Laga is from Chicago. I wonder if pizza "norms" have changed? Or maybe it's a regional thing within the city?

There is also Chicago style thin crust. Laga and Kathy aren't wrong about that. But when people outside of Chicago talk about "Chicago Style" they are talking about the deep dish.

Hell knows I hate crab and yet here I've lived over a decade, crabcake central. Longertermers than me cringe in horror at that admission. Sorry, I spent my formative years never developing a taste for seafood. Now if you ask me about green chile, I can kick your ass six or a billion ways from sunday. No one does enchiladas, gorditas, green chile menudo, salsas, rellenos or green tamales righter than a southern NMican, damnit. Hell, no one does green chile righter, period.

Bad Wolf

Has anyone ever done voice lessons? I'm doing guitar lessons right now but I always find myself wanting to sing more than play the guitar. I guess I don't really know what I'm asking, just wondering if anyone has had any good experiences with voice lessons. Are they worth it to a total amateur who pretty much only sings in the shower or car.

I love you, Ginger. And you did actually inspire me. The letter has been written and is printing out right now.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

This hockey game is going to kill me. Seven minutes left in the second overtime.

Both goaltenders are standing on their heads and making some phenomenal saves. Too bad the refs are in Pittsburgh's pocket.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I've taken voice lessons and would take again. The teacher I had knew my goals and really helped me out. Are they worth it? Depends on your goals and your money. A good voice teacher is at least $20 for a half hour lesson. I took hour long lessons twice per week, but it was while I was in undergrad. I had to pay an extra fee (o top of tuition), but it was nominal.
