Sometimes I miss having powers... Oh. Oh! I know what this is! This is peer pressure! Any second now you're gonna make me smoke tobacco and--and have drugs!

Is your boss her boss? My boss is on people's ass if he can;t reach them or get an answer when they put in for work from Home time.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Much ~ma for Pico.

On the ancestry front, mine is enitrely European, though some from areas that may have suffered invasions from Asia over the millenia. I do know someone who tells a family legend about a mysterious male Indian (tribe unknown) who wandered through the area, stopping just long enough to father a child on the person's great-grandmother -- creating just enough Indian ancestry to qualify for minority set-asides.

She works from home, and regularly won't respond to emails all day long. I sent her one a while ago just asking her to forward something, and no response.

Dude. That's not acceptable. What is she doing, then?? Does she ever respond? Is this time sensitive stuff? (is she in another time zone?) Is she working from home for a particular reason (like illness?). I mean....yeesh. If she's getting her work done, that's one thing, and I'm not saying you have to respond to every email in five minutes, but I'd think someone might need to have a talk with her about what the expectations are on availablility, or if she wants to make it clear to everyone that she tends to answer emails at lunchtime and the end of the day, or WHAT....it's setting up a bad dynamic, that I'd think she'd want to know about, if nothing else.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Is your boss her boss? My boss is on people's ass if he can;t reach them or get an answer when they put in for work from Home time.

Yes, my boss is her boss. She works from home all the time, in CA. But she also has special pull with the big boss, so she's more or less untouchable -- so far. I swear, I like most of the people and much of the work, but this place is kind of a joke.

Oh, I know. It's not like she's even getting her work done! Whatever her work is supposed to be....She's useless and overpaid, but see above re: untouchable.

The DC handgun law has been struck down, in a 5-4 decision, and the majority says there is an individual right to bear arms...

I kinda gotta agree with the majority in this case. The DC law was pretty extreme and I feel like it did go against the 2nd amendment. I'm don't feel particularly great about the decision, but I can't convince myself it was wrong.

That sucks. Well, not for her.

what happens in meeting when big boss asks about a project and it isn't done because of her? If I were her boss I would assign her things just for that reason and let it come out in meetings that she is not doing her work.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

That sucks. Well, not for her.

For reals. I was just wondering where I could sign up for such a gig.

Because books.

Any of our high school teachers around? Anyone want to give me a sort of usual 11th grade course list? Such as, what history might you be studying?
