For her birthday present I gave her a special thing to do together every month for the next year(like go out to dinner etc.) so tonight it June's special night. I'm making roasted beet salad w/ a gorgonzola dressing, a sort of potato/tarragon gratin, baked ham steak, mashed peas w/ mint, and strawberries w/ cream for dessert.
That is super awesome! And I, like, Jesse, would love to have that dinner! And would love to have it with you and Jesse, cause that would be awesome fun!
Tomorrow is busy busy busy and then we have a show with our favorite ukeleleist tomorrow night.
That's right! It's SCS Saturday!
Stupid being in Dallas.
We walked out to the soft-serve truck and then walked around Battery Park with our ice cream cones!

Yes!!

Nice!
I guess I still have time to do work today, but man, I don't want to.
Oh, god, so full from lunch.
Who wants to be taunted with the details of my 3-course meal?
I got a text from my sister telling me to call my mother because she was feeling down. I didn't fully process that
it's her fucking birthday
but a few hours later my sister called to tell me the call wasn't as urgent because she seems to be feeling a bit more up, and she has yet to come home to the flat screen TV my father bought her.
So that's my good news for today, even though it doesn't cast me in a good light. I have to admit I wasn't sure why calling her was going to make her feel better, but I have to stop being an idiot about that.

Taunt me!
Also, I'm headed to the Ferry Building because that's the nearest Po Boy I can have for lunch.
Jesse - do some work. I got busy with entering invoices and now I am cranking stuff out and will end Friday with a bunch done. YAY!
First course...actually, before the first course, they brought out crostini. Bread, potatoes, garlic, prosciutto, and arugula.
First course: Cauliflower soup with truffle oil.
Second course: Gnocchi with wild boar sausage and fava beans.
Third course: Flourless chocolate cake with hazelnut gelato.
I also got to taste what my husband ordered, which was a frisee, pear, and goat cheese salad with caramelized pecans, and chianti-braised short ribs with risotto.
ooh, yum, Dana!

Seriously!!! Anytime!
In not happy news, I just talked to my dad and they just had to put their dog Lady, a sheltie, down. She'd had a bad cough and collapsed the other day and they found she had a tumor on her heart. There wasn't really any viable treatment option. So sad. She was really my dad's sweetheart.
