Kat, can you try Avon's Skin So Soft? It really works, and it's not a spray. I'm not sure about toxicity, but maybe if you only put it on his legs (i.e. not somewhere he'd put in his mouth?).
Seems like there should be baby-safe bug stuff out there somewhere, doesn't it?
Could you maybe put some citronella or soy based bug stuff on his clothes instead of his skin, Kat?
It's been a long time coming.
Yes, but it's not always the best way to get a satisfactory outcome. It's better to get someone defensive about doing their job right, rather than impugning their character, I've found. They're more likely to expend effort to show you how good a job they can do. Insult them personally, they waste cycles on indignation. I was mad and kinda blew up.
I'm supposed to be cleaning my office today. I'd actually rather be working. Of course, posting here is neither thing, but whatever.
Feed Noah lots of garlic! Actually, I don't really know if that works. I knew a woman who swore by it. Um, and you could tell she ate a lot of garlic. So maybe not...
my dad took garlic pills for a couple of years and the mosquitos didn't bother him at all. before that he was totally mosquito bait. he's stopped taking them again and you guessed it...they love him. so if that's an option, i totally recommend it.
sara, you are a wise wise lady.
Someone mentioned drying his clothes with a dryer sheet as a bug repellent? Ever heard of that.
I ordered some skin so soft... and I will see if I can find citronella for clothes. Poor little bit-ridden guy.

It's possible that the Skin So Soft works because it has citronella in it.

I know more than one person who said the best thing to bring on a camping trip is dry pasta and pesto (and something to boil water and drain pasta with, natch). The pesto will cause you to sweat the garlic out, and it keeps the bugs away like a repellent.
