Buffy: A Guide, but no water or food. So it leads me to the sacred place and then a week later it leads you to my bleached bones? Giles: Buffy, really. It takes more than a week to bleach bones.

It's possible that the Skin So Soft works because it has citronella in it.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

my dad took garlic pills for a couple of years and the mosquitos didn't bother him at all. before that he was totally mosquito bait. he's stopped taking them again and you guessed it...they love him. so if that's an option, i totally recommend it.

I know more than one person who said the best thing to bring on a camping trip is dry pasta and pesto (and something to boil water and drain pasta with, natch). The pesto will cause you to sweat the garlic out, and it keeps the bugs away like a repellent.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Does peppermint work on mosquitos, or is that an old wives tale?

We've been lucky so far this year, but I do need a baby-safe mosquito solution for when we're down in DC for the 4th.

Huh. So maybe there is something to becoming a human garlic clove.

My sinuses and throat aren't liking all the fresh air I'm getting at night. What allergies I have are minor, more likely just particulate irritation. But it is another annoyance.

(They aren't asking for her to get off the hook. Just not to be on it until the new year.)

If she hasn't deferred before, it shouldn't be a problem.

hip deep in pie

Someone mentioned drying his clothes with a dryer sheet as a bug repellent? Ever heard of that.

It totally doesn't work. My dad tried putting a dryer sheet in his ball cap and he still got eaten alive.

Happy Birthday, Plei!

I just solved a problem! I wish that meant my work for the day here was done.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I discovered that my kitchen sink drain is leaking. I just cleaned up a big pool of water under my sink, and did the dishes in the bathtub.

And my flight leaves in 3 hours.

Sigh.

The last four northern white rhinoceros remaining in the wild are feared to have been killed for their horns by poachers and are now believed to be extinct in the wild. Only a few are left in captivity but they are difficult to breed and the number is so low that the species is regarded as biologically unviable.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Sigh.

Stuff like that really pisses me off. Endangered animals get killed because people are idiots and believe stupid shit....
