I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

Happy Birthday javachik!

I'd give you cupcakes if you were here! Or if they squeezed through this darn series of tubes!

Because books.

Happy birthday, javachick! I didn't know it was your birthday, too!

Everyone should clearly eat cake today.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I had pie for breakfast, does that count?

I'm currently sitting outside with my hair damp and my feet bare, waiting for lunch to cook. Life seems sweet, at least for this moment.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Happy birthday, Javachik! And Happy Flag Day, everyone!

Baby's First Birthday Party was a huge success - I didn't burn the building down with the grill, the toddlers all got along (or at least there was no biting or hairpulling) and the weather cooperated completely. The birthday boy is now sacked out for his afternoon nap while his parents enjoy the relative quiet.

Cranky observations:
To whoever drives the not-even-all-that-big-Ford-pickup It is fairly common for local assholes to decide they need two parking spaces. But four elevate you from mere asshole to douchebag.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just walked home through the rain, which is OK, I guess -- better than heading out in the rain!

Oh, and no sign of Denzel -- or the production at all -- on my street today. Ah well.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Happy Birthday javachik!

A nasty thunderstorm this afternoon turned a set by one of the Celtic Fest performers into an acoustic jam with members of a bunch of the performers. Kinda neat, even if I couldn't hear the vocals most of the time.

Happy One, Dylan! And happy howevermany, javachick.

In news of the absurd: my a/c froze up. No, really. Couldn't get the apt below 76 overnight, but it is capable of icing the coils to the point they don't work. I've got it off and am running the fan to melt the ice. It's still putting out 75 air. From the ice. Bets as to whether it'll come back on once I've deiced it are NOT being solicited.

It's fucking ridiculous. When it is working, it had no problem keeping things dry and 78 when it was fucking 95 and soupy.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Happy Birthday, Dylan and javachik!

It's a beautiful, beautiful day here, so Annabel and I have been out enjoying it for a bit. Among other things, we went to Cupcake Royale to get cupcakes for Father's Day. Annabel made a card to go with them (with me telling her how to spell the words and helping with a few of the letters she hasn't quite got the hang of making yet). She knows all her letters now, and she knows that letters make words, but she doesn't quite get the whole "must run left-to-right, top-to-bottom" thing yet. As a result, her caption: "Daddy cupcakes, From Annabel" actually reads

DADDY
CUPC
AKE
L ANNABE
FROM

It's very cute.
