I heard that the Cedar River has crested and has started to go down. So, that's one thing.
Thanks, sumi. The whole town is on severe water restrictions and there is great concern that some of the electric grid will be down for weeks! It is just like Katrina only more personal to me.
Oooh, a friend is coming over to watch Dr Who and eat pie with me! Real socializing in my own home!
Now I'd better make a stab at neatening the living room, at least to the extent that there might be places to sit, et cetera.

Dog is home, and she is glistening. It almost hurts to look at her.
Not quite as expensive as I remembered, but almost. $60, plus $20 extra for the serious de-shedding because her coat is so thick. Ouch, but also, totally worth it.
