Grrr. I just committed to coming into work at 7:00 am tomorrow morning to take care of updating a database and sending an email out that my boss can't due to computer problems. Only good thing about that is that I can then leave at 3:00 in the afternoon.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ugh. Commute home was frelled because of signal problems on the F line. D and I are hiding in the air-conditioning for now, soon will have to venture out for dinner. BLECH.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Just got back from smoking, now it is cold and rainy.

I paid a bill for the medlab no idea if it is what they are calling about --- the invoice number they gave me -- looks wrong, wrong , wrong

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

July 4th's not a big travelling holiday, is it? Thanksgiving is #1, and what's the second, again? Christmas?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

You travelling somewhere this 4th ita? Oh, and how's the headache?

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I find that the 4th is a big driving holiday, as people go to various BBQs, camping trips, whathaveyou. Not so much the flying, though. It's more of a community holiday than a family holiday - at least, that's the gestalt I've always felt.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

And it falls on a Friday this year, so I figure more people than normal will travel to take advantage of the long weekend.

I got an invite to head a few miles north and join a friend and his family for their town's July 4th parade. I haven't spent time with them in a year, so I'm looking forward to it. I'll probably be working on the 5th, and I just committed to going in and donating platelets on the 6th, so that'll be a busy weekend for me.
