And other New Yorkers, was there a ton of lightning last night? I went to bed early, so I wasn't entirely sure what was going on.
Yeah, there was thunder and lightning. But no rain that I could see! And now it's 9am and already closing in on 90F. I've seen reports of a high anywhere from 97 to 101. The triple digits is impressive and all, but honestly once it gets over 95 I don't actually care what the number is. I just want it to STOP.
Even my normally-freezing office is warm this morning. I shudder to think what it's going to be like in here once we turn the machines on. (I sit right in front of a rack of editing equipment that throws off obscene amounts of heat. Maybe I'll ask IT to move my desk into the server room today...)
Question: does anyone know the right way to tie a sarong as a skirt? I probably do something wrong here...

Thanks Sox!
(I probably just need to practice that more).
The Varying Impact of Gas Prices (map)
Gas prices are high throughout the country, but how hard they hit individual families depends on income levels, which vary widely.
The highest is Wilcox County, AL at 16%. The lowest is Hunterdon County, NJ at 2%.
I drive so little I probably spend less than 1% of my income on gas....
I think it is weird that most of New York State is the same color, except for the NYC area, but most of the other states vary tremendously.

(Gawd, sometimes I love the 21st century....)
You can see me in the picture - I'm the pixel right next to that big cloud.
Howdy everyone! My cornea is healing up nicely - whoo hoo!
But I forgot to bring my contacts with me AND I also forgot to make a sammich for lunch or to bring my yoghurt for breakfast. So I was up and perky this morning but apparently - a perky sleepwalker. Also, I spilled almost an entire glass of water this morning prior to leaving for the doctor's office.
