"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Shrift, it is fairly established that fandom trends towards non-glam.

I am not a very girly girl in many ways, but I do like me some glam, especially in footwear and eye makeup. I will stand with you and Gwyn R in the corner of fabulous shoes.

I was a little gobsmacked by the "too flashy!" comments. I'd already done the "is this too much for my midwestern family to handle?" calculations!

Shoe prudes.

Coffee fights depression - who knew?

I did. I knew.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

TOTAL shoe prudes.

Man, I miss some of my fab shoes from when my feet were smaller. I had some KILLER silver platforms, and vintage lucite and rhinestone heels, and old school 'vogs of doooooooom.

Sigh.

Now I have... a pair of Jimmy Choo slides that are a skosh too narrow for comfort, and a lot of square-toed chunky boots that are SO two or three seasons ago.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Coffee fights depression - who knew?

Good for ADHD too.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Poetic justice for teens who trashed Frost home

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Call it poetic justice: More than two dozen young people who broke into Robert Frost’s former home for a beer party and trashed the place are being required to take classes in his poetry as part of their punishment.

Using “The Road Not Taken” and another poem as jumping-off points, Frost biographer Jay Parini hopes to show the vandals the error of their ways — and the redemptive power of poetry.

“I guess I was thinking that if these teens had a better understanding of who Robert Frost was and his contribution to our society, that they would be more respectful of other people’s property in the future and would also learn something from the experience,” said prosecutor John Quinn.

Good luck with that....

But wouldn't you get bounce-back effect when the caffeine wears off?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Power went out here for about thirty seconds. Sadly, it came back on.

I had always thought that in the long run, stimulant use can leave you more depressed.

But wouldn't you get bounce-back effect when the caffeine wears off?

Then you apply more caffeine.

Then you apply more caffeine.

But then you build up a tolerance, and you just need more and more. Then one day you can't find your coffee and you flip out and trash your place....
