Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I say go for shoes bling. If people are looking at the bridesmaid's shoes during a wedding, something is seriously off.

Besides, it's really hard to upstage the bride on her wedding day. Brides tend to glow.

Shrift, it is fairly established that fandom trends towards non-glam. Gwyn R and I have bemoaned this before.

Your bling was perfectly acceptable levels of dashing. Plain silver, esp. given the dress, would be dull and not formal enough. So says I. Keeping in mind that, though I'm a slouch in PJ bottoms most of the time, I dig the dressy.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Bling it up, shrift!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Your bling was perfectly acceptable levels of dashing.

I agree. As bling goes, that's pretty mild.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Whoops. I like those. Something's wrong.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Sprakly shoes are appropriate for a floor-length dress and/or an evening reception. They're practically obligatory! Next flisters are going to be telling you that pearls must be worn at night.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

ita, we went to the Robin Hood Pub. [link]

English Friend likes the food, and also says the attached store is the only place one can get imported English Butter. Even after 40 years here, she won't eat American butter.

Hey, I like 'em, too. With a short, snazzy dress (and someone else's body, because I'm so out of shape and lumpy right now, OMG) and some killer nail polish.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Old drug ad: Casts away gloom, depression …as it relieves headache pain fast! (Feb, 1966)

Casts away gloom, depression …as it relieves headache pain fast!

Depression often intensifies headache pain. So don’t settle for old-fashioned aspirin which has no special ingredient to relieve depression. Take today’s Anacin®. Anacin doesn’t dull the senses or leave you depressed. In fact, Anacin has a combined new action that actually casts away gloom and depression as headache pain goes in minutes.

Only today’s Anacin has this special formula. It contains the pain-relieving compound doctors now prescribe most and which 2 out of 3 doctors call the greatest pain fighter ever discovered. Anacin is also fortified with a special ‘mood-lifter’ or energizer that brightens your spirits, restores new enthusiasm and drive. With Anacin you experience remarkable all-over relief.

WTF? Anacin cut with speed? Or is this just caffeine?

Are there any other OTC stimulants besides caffeine?

eta: from the comments, this is Anacin and caffeine. Coffee fights depression - who knew?

Shrift, it is fairly established that fandom trends towards non-glam.

I am not a very girly girl in many ways, but I do like me some glam, especially in footwear and eye makeup. I will stand with you and Gwyn R in the corner of fabulous shoes.

I was a little gobsmacked by the "too flashy!" comments. I'd already done the "is this too much for my midwestern family to handle?" calculations!

Shoe prudes.
