I look more rad than Lutheranism

She'll probably still go, just show up right before and leave right after. She did this to our other friend last week with a SITC thing. Didn't make it to the snacks and tv marathon hanging with the girls bit. Showed up 5 min before the movie and left right after

I don't get that. Why even bother to show up? The movie isn't really the point; it's the hanging out that the movie facilitates. That really sucks.

Dad is out of surgery, according to my mom, "just fine." That's one hurdle done.

Excellent!

My father was up and walking around within 24 hours after his quadruple bypass surgery, so it's a good bet that you'll be able to talk to him soon.

Yeah, considering what good shape your dad is in, with the walking many miles a day, he'll probably be up and walking w/in a day or so, and home within a few days.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Muslim schools in American, like the Khalil Gibran International Academy in NY

That's not a "Muslim" school. It's a public charter school, hence non-religious, with a focus on Arabic language and culture.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Can someone please explain to me in VERY SMALL WORDS why it is that re: Florida and Michigan, where the states expressly DID NOT PLAY BY THE RULES AND THIS WAS KNOWN BEFOREHAND, people are calling the DNC hypocritical because they, umm. Kinda enforced the RULES THAT WERE KNOWN BEFOREHAND?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Good news about your father, Kat!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Of course, the Khalil Ghibran school is an arab culture/language school, not a Muslim school. FYI. Hence being named after a Christian.

It's a woman! It's a baby woman! (tm Doonesbury)

Yay! And I always think that, too!

Good news from your dad, Kat!!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Are "did not get desired result" small enough words?

eta: Also, house and makeup blogs. You said so!

Yay, Shrift's baby woman niece creature to be!

And good news is good, Kat!

Why do I not have cupcakes?

Plei, I wish I could explain it to you, but I can't. I can see where Florida and Michigan voters might feel screwed since the voters themselves didn't set the primary dates. But I don't get it (as someone who enforces rules that don't make sense regularly).

This political season has driven me from sort of excited about what's going on to extremely angry. I think I am done reading about politics until after election day.

Are "did not get desired result" small enough words?

People are all, "FLORIDA 2000! OHIO 2004!" and I'm all, "Apples? Oranges? Take it up with your state chairpeople who decided to break the rules in the first place?"

But I think you're right. Even though they're all saying it's Not About That.

Oh, bullcaca.

Why do I not have cupcakes?

Because you aren't in my classroom where I am eating a cupcake.

I had the best lunch.... special weird wild grain mix (with couscous [not the little grains of semolina kind, but the nice round yummy ones], orzo, baby chickpeas and red quinoa) with a roasted red pepper sauce and turkey meatballs. It's sounds nasty, but it's the best quick meal EVAH. And I left school and went to the Coffee Bean (in walking distance....love) and got an iced tea.

My life is filled with the yum.
