Now, like all right-thinking people, I start my day with a shower. As a matter of fact, I am not sure I could FUNCTION without a shower.
If I can't shower in the morning, I feel all gross and dirty and vaguely scummy all day.
My BFF, OTOH, thinks that's odd and always showers after dinner, so she can get into bed all clean.
Which is nice, but I guess I toss and turn too much all night, which makes me all hot and sweaty. Not to mention it fucks up my hair badly enough that it's just better to take a shower and wash my hair and start all over with clean wet hair.
I prefer morning showers, generally, because otherwise my hair would look all crazy every morning, from being slept on. Also, it helps wake me up.
However, working from home, sometimes I end up not taking a shower until it's time to leave the house and see humans, in the evening.

I like showering in the morning, as it helps me wake up. However, as I am completely unwilling to get out of bed any earlier than I absolutely need to, I usually shower in the evening before bed.
Cannot function without morning shower. Feel gross. See all the contortions and torture I put myself through when I had either no hot water or no water. Bucket bath, screaming icecold showers, pots and pots of water heated on the stove....
I am right thinking like Scrappy.
Showering is not so much a cleaning ritual (though that does occur) for me, as it is a way to jump start various balky systems, most importantly my sinus cavities. I need a full spray of hot water in my face for ten minutes to just to get my nose functional. Also, there's some lower back maintenance involved.
I prefer morning showers if for no other reason than to get my hair under control. This morning I woke up and Joe looked at my bangs sticking straight up and cringed. He said, "You're looked a little 'Valley Girl' this morning" "The girls or Nicolas Cage", I asked. He winced and left the bedroom.
I like to shower in the morning, but frankly I'll take my shower whenever I can get it. I also agree that showering is for getting clean, baths are for relaxing.
I prefer a shower in the a.m., although I've been known to rinse off in the evening if it's been a particularly hot & humid day.
More often, I will wash my feet before going to bed, and I'll sometimes ask my DH to do so because I can't stand the thought of filthy feet in the sheets. We're both barefoot people and we get dirty feet!
prefer night showers, have sometimes now resorted to evening showers to gain more morning sleep.
I have a natter question for y'all. Now, like all right-thinking people, I start my day with a shower. As a matter of fact, I am not sure I could FUNCTION without a shower. My BFF, OTOH, thinks that's odd and always showers after dinner, so she can get into bed all clean. I should add that in cool weather I often take a bath in the evening as well, but I kinda consider that as relaxation and not hygiene. What do you do?
I really don't like showering in the morning. Shock to the system. And anyway, I prefer evening since that's when I do my hikes, and then I go to bed clean, etc. I don't find it odd to want to shower in the morning though.
Not as odd as the waiters who insist on refilling my coffee before I've finished the cup. And they are not always shooed off easily. I have the milk/coffee mixture just right, don't f*ck it up, thank you very much.
