I prefer a shower in the a.m., although I've been known to rinse off in the evening if it's been a particularly hot & humid day.
More often, I will wash my feet before going to bed, and I'll sometimes ask my DH to do so because I can't stand the thought of filthy feet in the sheets. We're both barefoot people and we get dirty feet!
prefer night showers, have sometimes now resorted to evening showers to gain more morning sleep.
I have a natter question for y'all. Now, like all right-thinking people, I start my day with a shower. As a matter of fact, I am not sure I could FUNCTION without a shower. My BFF, OTOH, thinks that's odd and always showers after dinner, so she can get into bed all clean. I should add that in cool weather I often take a bath in the evening as well, but I kinda consider that as relaxation and not hygiene. What do you do?
I really don't like showering in the morning. Shock to the system. And anyway, I prefer evening since that's when I do my hikes, and then I go to bed clean, etc. I don't find it odd to want to shower in the morning though.
Not as odd as the waiters who insist on refilling my coffee before I've finished the cup. And they are not always shooed off easily. I have the milk/coffee mixture just right, don't f*ck it up, thank you very much.
I shower in the morning to feel human. Though if it's been a particularly sweaty day due to heat, exercise, boss scrutiny or whatever, I'll sometimes take another in the evening to feel clean and relaxed for bed.
Chris Hitchens wishes waiters would stop refilling his wine glass.
He never ceases to amaze me with the sheer glorious random range of his rantery. He can't, he won't be pigeonholed -- he's a positive omni-raging Renaissance man of batshittery.
ION, I now have absolutely no idea when Emmett's game is, or whether he and Hec will be coming home anytime before July. I'll just go get Matilda as usual tonight and wait in hope.
Happy birthday, Dana! Happy birthday, big girl Ellie!
I shower in the morning to feel human.
Yeah, I don't feel right and clean until I shower.
I love my morning showers, but I have the darnedest time getting myself together enough to actually go take one. Once I'm in, I really can't understand why it took so much emotional effort to get moving towards that moment.
I've been having the shower-time discussion a lot lately! Several of my coworkers shower at night. I don't, for reasons stated above: hair and waking up.
I detest morning showers but, as a latecomer to the household, I defer to general custom. However, when Hec is away for the weekend doing a book reading or a baseball tournament or whatnot, I revert to nighttime showering. A warm shower soothes my insomniac tendencies, cleans away the day's misery, and makes the next morning slightly less harried. To me, the second best ever nighttime ritual is hot shower+hot toddy or glass of wine+clean PJs+clean sheets.
Oh, I think I'd be more likely to want to do the opposite of my partner, to open up bathroom time!
